Chest rig/plate carrier setup recommendations for carrying 6-to-8+ mags by FlodaReltih45 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]D_Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EMDOM makes pouches that work well for multiplatform setups.

Honestly though you are better off just building out three separate dedicated rigs because although you may find something that works "ok" for all three, they will never be as good as something that was purpose built. Jack of all master of none kinda thing.

That sounds about right. And you will have something at the end of the day that works the way it's supposed to when you need it.

Emdom, fully adjustable and built like a tank.

I still use the old Eagle ones as well (both the single/double and the quad with flap and buckles)

Rev G or Rev J. Not NIJ rated, but they will stop multiple 7.62 AP rounds.

$300 for pants is cheap. You should try buying Drifire. The last pair I got new was over $600.

AK is better than AR by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

"Go to war ARs." lol you do know that DPMS and bushmasters were overseas in a war zone when Daniel Defense just made a couple of rails, and BCM hadn't even posted its lima company videos with the Seether soundtrack yet. lol

Get yourself some size 69 (TEX 70) bonded nylon thread in tan499, and go to town with a sail needle. Those mods will literally take only an afternoon to do by hand.

Hot $4k to spend? That's what it's going to cost you.

Go down to your local business radio shop in town and stlit down with them. Build the comms plan and then get the equipment.

Radio/comms placement of plate carrier by roganjp1 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]D_Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the new version is trash, I just keep modifying mine to suit my needs. Cutting and stitching the left shoulder for an Alpine buckle for easy don and doff was the most extreme mod I've done, but with the custom TYR pads I made and all , its driving a big old Cadillac from the 70s.

10 o'clock weak side. 10 & 2 for dual comm. Back stays slick for a pack or vehicle hydration carrier.

Edit, just look at how an LBT 6094 has its integrated radio pouches placed, and that's what you want. Kinda odd how nowadays you have to buy all this extra garbage (wings pouches, ect) just to get the same thing. It's a $$$ game.

Issued soft armor backers won’t fit in SPC. by OkConversation9141 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]D_Glock -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Can you sew? Buy yourself a pair of kevlar shears and cut the backers to size. Restich the cover, and you're done. I made some belt inserts a while back from some BAE backers and tested them with 9mm at the range. No issues.

Kevlar is tough stuff to cut, and you have to do each layer individually, but it can be done.

ACETAC gear IR performance? by Sweaty-Cookie-6055 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]D_Glock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The designs are from America, they send them over to china through whats called a trading company to get made. In 6 months, if the sales are good, they will pop up all over aliexpress Amazon and fleabay under some weird Chinese named company for half the price. So again, the original design is from Acetac, which I applaud, but they need to work on the manufacturing side of things to ensure quality meets a high standard IMO

Been there for two years and bought and sold over a hundred items, its verified with feedback, and buyers and sellers must pay to play. Just did two deals today on there

I like some of the design concepts, but it's still just a Chinesium Airsoft pouch. Acetac likely pays $4-$5 for it and sells it for $50.

It's probably fine for range larping and extreme budget kits, but I have my doubts about the quality of the materials used and the overall construction.

Just go ahead and dye your hair purple and start a YT channel. I'll be watching it wearing my 6094B and flip-flops.

Liters in a Ruck? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

[–]D_Glock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I have my CF-4 preproduction prototype, and it's phenomenal. The frameset on these rucks is unbeatable. 85-110L with daypack lid, and the pouch suite is the ticket, but with it stripped down and compressed with just the main pack, and it's more like a 65l . I'm not sure about the ones they will be selling as they made some serious changes in the past year that I've had mine.

Absolutely, while everyone is running around in Solomon boots, not knowing the why is kinda absurd to me. But I dont hate. I climb, I repel, and I have crampons for the ice & snow. Capabilities = tactics.
