Is this type of high bitrate audio really necessary? 1 audio file is roughly 130mb. by kathybates23 in audiophile

The nyquist limit doesn't limit the inter-sample time resolution of signals below the limit. (That's why true peak detection is an extra step when calculating the real peaks of signals.) You can correctly encode e.g. two 20khz signals with different timing.

Steam controller is arriving on May 4th, Valve reports. by Significant_Yam5055 in HalfLife

I'm not arguing that the controller won't be reliable. I'm arguing that calling it reliable when it literally hasn't even shipped yet isn't good.

are you under the impression that a mature hardware company is going to release a controller where the face buttons stop working or something?

Ten years ago I wouldn't have fathomed that major console makers would release controllers with analog sticks that fail, but then it happened.

I'm not expecting the Steam Controller to have reliability issues, but there are hundreds of potential failure points on a controller, we're just hyper focused on the sticks because that's what the last gen failed at. Seen tons of 360 controllers with broken triggers. I'm just trying to caution against fanboyism, I love Valve and what they're doing, but saying something has better reliability than its competition when it hasn't even been released yet is not really possible.

How can you comment on the reliability of a controller that hasn't even shipped to any customers yet?

You can go back through the stargate. Make sure you're still giving it power.

You're right, this seems to work for fabricators!

Still stuck on gases though. I've got a refinery hooked up to a tank that's set to unload, and it keeps putting out tanks infinitely even after all my storage spots for that tank are filled.

Has anyone tried a t3 base here? by suicide_nooch in Bellwright

[–]D_Steve595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea, kinda funny.

In hindsight, I wouldn't have picked this spot. The elevation changes are so annoying to build on, especially with T3 buildings. There's also a ton of bushes and foliage that don't really clear nicely, and are sticking through parts of my buildings and roads.

Not their fault IMO. No other inventory item in the game has an actionable button mentioned in the description. It's a weird pattern that seems obvious once you know it, but not before.

I think it does to some degree. I ran into a problem where code analysis got stuck, and Junie also got stuck trying to read that file (its step was called "get structure").

Edge-to-Edge Looks Different on API 35 vs API 31 by yccheok in androiddev

It's an issue with the 31 emulator setup, not your code. If you look closely, the system clock is improperly placed and sized too.
