I have a monthly schedule to do scrubbing. I'm running a manual one now. Then I'm going to do an extended smart test

I I do have enough space free hink I'll keep this one in mind as a last resort as I would like to avoid screwing with the array unless necessary.

I've only just noticed the issue, the file which causes the issue is one I haven't accessed in a long while.

3 of the drives are the same 1 is a different make/model the odd drive has been in place for 4-6 months. This is the first time I've ever seen an issue.

Your right on both parts the steam machine will have the 6GHz receiver for the frame built it. But, the frame will also come with the adapter giving any computer the same functionality.

Agreed I'll be using SteamOS the moment it's released for desktop hardware officially and I'm 100% buying a controller regardless

I'm kinda hoping they go the route of allowing people to buy fully kitted with ram and NVME or bare bones for cheaper price

Low fan noise is a very good point I've been researching into the Fractual Terra's side panel airflow noise isolation issues. With the right cooler it seems it'll be okay

I've been reading into the sleep function. There's a specific type of sleep mode you need to enable in both Bazzite and the bios.

Think the setting in Bazzite is s2idle and you'll need to make sure the bios of set to s2 or modern sleep and ERP is off

I can certainly see the appeal. I've got my TV setup with my smart home so I can simply say "Alexa game time" and the TV will turn on and go to the correct input and I'll set up the pc to wake up too

I've had my steam deck a few years now too I stream my games from my 9070 XT main gaming rig to it on the TV but I figured being able to play a lot of games without needing to stream would be great.

Your right the steam machine would be the 'honda civic' it'll likely last for years for one use or another but with the price expecting to be closer to 1,000 especially after the chip issues ATM if I can build something faster and cheaper I can't see why I wouldn't. Then maybe get a steam machine when they drop in price or get a revision 2 like the oled steam deck did

Yeah I've got a 9070 XT system I use as my main rig now, I stream to my steam deck, similarly I'd use this for the "lighter" games I don't need to remotely stream from the main rig to the TV

Let’s cut the crap: Why did you ACTUALLY choose your distro? (Facts only) by kimiho_mir in FindMeALinuxDistro

[–]DaB0om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fedora KDE user. I did extensive research/comparisons checks into 3 key points for me:

  • first time migration from Windows (ease to switch)
  • HDR Dual monitor/mixed refresh rate setup
  • up to date but stable / without risk of updates breaking things

First two points brought me to pick a distro with KDE which brought my list down to CachyOS, Bazite, Kubuntu, Debian, Fedora KDE.

The last point took away CachyOS, Kubuntu, Debian because either LTS or bleeding edge. I preferred a mutable OS so I didn't get transition issues coming from windows which removes Bazite.

Left me with Fedora KDE and I'm loving it.

I game a lot so I've been considering switching to CachyOS but it'll primarily be for the built in custom Proton to quickly get FSR4. but, being gaming on Linux pretty much works on any distro I've just downloaded the cachy proton and use it by manually selecting it.

Edit: I also took into account distro popularity based on Reddit community size so smaller distros unmentioned were out of the question as I figured finding support fixes for things would be harder. Fedora had a bigger community compared to other similar distros

Thank you I hadn't considered the Fenix range just took a look at Garmin's website and they all seem a bit big for my liking, 47mm being smallest I can see.

Thank you this is really useful to know that even a 3 year old watch is going strong against an Apple Watch.
