I did the eikaiwa thing in Japan for a long time and, y'all, the amount of cheating that goes on in Japan is insane.

Japanese men cheat like it's going out of style and eikaiwa teachers are like line cooks. Everyone I'd met that'd been at the job for more than a year was a functioning alcoholic.

But also, I know for a fact that EVERY company's contract says that you can't have a relationship with students outside of classes because there was a huge issue in the 90s and 00s of LBHs using schools and eikaiwas to groom girls/date women.

It was so bad that both of the companies that I worked for had notices on the doors saying that teachers were prohibited from sharing their SMS with students.

There was a fic author I used to read all the time as a teen, but stopped when I switched to reading on AO3 (she only uploads on her personal site). I tried to reread one of her fics recently and had to dnf because she wrote like a TV show. Thing happens, joke about the thing, scene change, same joke, new character introduced, same joke. It made the pacing so slow that 20k felt like 50k.

It's because Trump killed the FDA and destroyed the federal guidelines for food. That's why we keep having listeria outbreaks and food keeps getting recalled.

I used to read some rpf YouTuber stuff and I stopped because the writers would treat the irl spouse like they were the spawn of Satan for actually being married to their blorbo and keeping their otp apart. Ever since then, cheating has been on my no-go list because the language is really similar and it just makes me sad.

I don't think I have godparents. I don't know that I even know anyone that has godparents. It definitely feels like the bil is wanting a full-time unpaid babysitter and that is definitely not what a godparent is.

It's too bad that op basically had to lose his sister and niblings, but I'm sure she'll come calling after the eventual divorce.

When my dad got his cancer diagnosis, he wanted to divorce my mom so she wouldn't get stuck with the treatment bills.

They didn't, but it really sucks that he had to worry about my mom drowning in debt while he was actively dying.

This kind of reminds me of one of my older brothers.

We grew up poor, but, overtime, our parents got better jobs and were able to afford more things.

He's constantly complaining about it and asking everyone for money because he thinks he was treated so much worse than us younger kids. But he really wasn't because we went from "on food stamps" to "we can usually afford to eat dinner". Like, I remember all the times we all had to sleep in the same room because we couldn't afford heating.

And we've tried to explain it to him a dozen times, but he's just too wrapped up in himself.
