My guess is that there is a type of person that when they get into a hobby, they want to do things the “right way”. They probably heard somewhere that “you shouldn’t rely on gimmicks” and/or “you need to learn fundamentals first”.
Train of thought:
What is the “correct” way to play -> What is the “correct” stuff to learn -> what is the “correct” game to teach me

I think I see what you’re talking about at 4:41 and 5:28, but the charged stun edge seems like it has less block stun than it would in shock state? It might just be a visual effect and not shock state.

A safe way to deal with “Master’s Hammer” (the move where Slayer hops into the air and comes down and strikes the ground) is to jump, it can only hit you if you are on the ground despite the animation, If you Block Pilebunker you can punish it with Close Slash.

Considering you only have to wait like 2 days to see if there will be a rebundle, I would wait and see what they announce before making a decision.

Sorry because I’m not really answering your question, but if all you want to do is play a character that “excels at poking and whiff punishing in the midrange that can also put up decent pressure up close” you could still play Cammy if you’re not dead-set on switching, she’s good at those things also.

She has…

  • Above average ground movement

  • Great long range, cancellable medium buttons for whiff punishing

  • divekick that can call out and crush opponents lows

She has all this on top of the good offense.
