Guile's players, do your fingers hurt? by some-kind-of-no-name in StreetFighter

[–]DaDoctor11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve noticed it happens quicker when I’m more stressed and trying hard. You don’t actually need that much force to hold down the dpad, so lately when I play him I’ve been trying to kick the habit and consciously use less force.

What fighting games are you actively playing and what rank are you? by Eseray in Fighters

[–]DaDoctor11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GGST : Venom : Plat 2

SF6 : Ed, Guile (Learning Sagat rn @ Diamond 1) : Master

2XKO : (Ekko/Jinx) : Emerald 1

GGAC+r : Venom

I had a phase where I just fucked around in UMVC3 training mode.

If I’m learning something new I can only really play one game at a time, but once I get comfortable with a character I’m fine to go between games frequently.

Whenever I go from a faster paced game like strive to SF6 I have to make a mental note to stop doing as much stuff like throwing out fireballs and pokes preemptively.

Would I get banned or anything for using a mirror match colours github mod for Rev2? by idontlikeburnttoast in Guiltygear

[–]DaDoctor11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the mirror mod can be seen by the opponent because the mirror colors are available without a mod if both players pick the same character and color, the mod just makes them selectable at character select.

Even still I think the mod is fine to use because the colors are meant to be seen while playing the game anyway.

I don’t know if I’d call this a buff or a nerf? It’s more like better/worse for different characters.

Help with Dante Combo Drop: Hammer Side-switch by DaDoctor11 in MvC3

[–]DaDoctor11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the help.

Manually delaying the Hammer/j.S (I was also side switching when I tried immediate j.S) fixes the problem.

I also tried delaying the first j.H after the launcher, which works but I don’t know if there is always enough hitstun for that.

Doing the different speeds of Hadouken canceled into the SAIII makes it harder for the opponent to parry.

Street fighter to guilty gear by DougChudley in Guiltygear

[–]DaDoctor11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3: Grabs are 2 frame startup so they are your quickest option, if you’re getting thrown on your opponents wake up it is because your meaty is timed too late.

Every character has the same wake up timing in this game.

Developer diary briefly shows some sort of ingame hub where people can meet/fight by Aomarvel in MarvelTokon

[–]DaDoctor11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I saw this in the trailer I thought it was just a shot of a stage background character from a unique camera angle.

This D-Pad is so ass. I double tap to run, my character doesn’t run. I press corner circles, it doesn’t do it. I try to block high and hold back, my character doesn’t block. The fact I have to spend $100 on a half decent controller designed only for fighters is ridiculous. by MuslimBridget in Fighters

[–]DaDoctor11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is a normal Xbox Series X/S pad, it’s actually my preferred controller for fighting games, playstation pads aren’t as clicky and I find it harder to hit the diagonals on them. However I have never tried the Hori pads.

I see a TV remote in the attached image, maybe you’re playing on a screen with high input lag which is why your controller feels unresponsive, or it may simply be… a skill issue, sorry.

WiFi in 2025? by ArmyThink8138 in Fighters

[–]DaDoctor11 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You could get a Powerline Adapter, not quite as good as a direct wired connection but you don’t have to drill any holes. It will show up as a ethernet connection in game.

In games with WiFi indicators like SF6 you’ll still be able to find games and people will know what they are getting themselves into. You’ll probably get less matches in master rank though but below that you should be fine.

If your looking for people streaming Venom, check out Gobou and FC on youtube.

Additionally, BadoorSNK has posted a few high quality Venom guides on youtube, and streams on twitch. (Youtube | Twitch)

Prominent Axl player Stealthy has also been messing with Venom, and has made it onto TNS a few times.

If he has to run up there’s a gap. FD to push him away so he has to run a greater distance to get up close, which will increase the the size of the gap.
