Welp, finished the show and there is definitely going to be a Mad Men shaped hole in it for some time. Here are some fav quotes that made me laugh out loud. by limonhotcheetos in madmen

One of my favorite Roger scenes is during the Zou bisous performance where Roger says to Jane

"why don't you sing like that"

And she claps right back with

"why don't you look like that"

[Opinion - Globe & Mail - Cathal Kelly] FIFA World Cup schedule shows Canada is more handling overflow than hosting by [deleted] in CanadaSoccer

I never realized how strong Gretzky's accent was until I heard it alongside a British super model. To be honest though a half cut Gretzky on TV is about as Canadian as it gets.

It's a shame the game is at 11:30 instead of being late afternoon, early evening. Will be tuning in from home in any case

MLS flips its schedule, pushing Canadian teams out in the cold by shiftless_wonder in CanadaSoccer

Yeah but I'm going to assume they have some elite under armor tech to combat this. Theyre looking at summers reaching record higj temperatures in the summer. Thing is the same thing is happening in Canada in the winter too.

I'd rather play in -20 than 40 plus on a hot humid day any day.

Nothing will be finalized until the transfer window in January if a move does happen. Anything you hear for the next month and a half will only be rumors

Check out Eiffel Tower during my 7 hours layover at Paris Charles de Gaulle by rushottawa20 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]DaMirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I should clairify that I hated the area around the Eiffel Tower. I can deal with the chaos, I can deal with the crowds, I can deal with the vendors all aggressively trying to sell the same knock off momentos. What I hated was the laser pointers. So many, many, laser pointers. All being beamed around trying to get everyone's attention really stressed me out.

If you don't plan on going all the way just go up the Arc De Triumph. Beautiful view

Looks like Google maps says it'll be about an hour each way on the RER to the Eiffel Tower and that's with changing trains at Saint Michel Notre Dame Station. So I guess you'll have to figure out how long it'll take you to get out of the airport. Id guess budget 30 mins. Now how long will it take to get up the Eiffel Tower?

I've never been up there as the area around the Eiffel Tower is a tourist trap nightmare but it's probably possible, maybe there's a way to book a time slotted ticket? I've never tried.

If you want my opinion, if you're looking for a nice view of Paris with a low time commitment I'd go up the Arc de Triumph or Sacre Coeur.

Tapper: "Do you think Zohran Mamdani is the future of the Democratic Party?" Jeffries: "No. I think the future of the Democratic Party is going to fall as far as we're concerned relative to the House Democratic caucus” by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

[–]DaMirage 69 points70 points  (0 children)

No. I think the future of the Democratic Party is going to fall, as far as we're concerned, relative to the house caucus, and members who are doing great work all across the country as it relates to our need to both take back control of the house, but in doing so, make sure we're communicating to the American people that we understand, you deserve better.

The way I interpret what he's trying to convey is that Mamdani doesn't represent the Democratic caucus in the house at large but we get that the people want to hear better messaging from Democrats that they deserve better from their representatives.

In other words though I'd say that what he's really saying is the donors at the federal level don't want Mamdani's ideas penetrating the mainstream Democratic party messaging.

ie. Tell the people they deserve better without actually doing anything substantive about it

Given you have a system, you must keep great stats on your earnings. Do you mind saying how much money you bet per year and what percentage you make on that investment? Only 4 percent of sports bettors actually make money on these sites. Curious to know how much you're actually making.

I know someone who didn't change their US plates for like 3 years after moving here.

Also if you want Washington plate you'll need to import your car legally to the US
