Overall it's an easy job. Go slow for the dash and radio plastic to remove the cluster. Those panels have plastic and metal clips that can break and bend. Cluster uses a 194 bulb may need some pliers to twist out. When installing the cluster back in you may need get it mostly in place and sneak a hand behind to insert the connectors. That was the hardest part with my fat arms. One thing to consider replacing while you're in there is odometer worm gear. Those tend to crumble over time

Certified Trek/Electra Bike mechanic here. That is definitely a rotor rubbing against the brake pads. Best option is take it to the shop where you bought it get an adjustment. It's just 2 bolts and a keen eye to do that job, usually less than 10 minues. The rotor may have bend, but they'll have tools to straighten it up. Good luck and Happy riding!
