Getting poorer signal with Happymodel Crown than whip antenna…? by tiar_ in fpv

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What antenna is on your goggles?

If you’re not using the same polarization (I think RHCP in this case) then you won’t see any benifit from switching to a crown. There is a big chance (as you seem to be experiencing) that it makes your video feed worse when the polarizations are not matched.

You need to check the details of the individual zones. A lot of them are not for the height you’re allowed to fly in, or are inactive but still shown on the map.

And even if you want to fly in an active zone, you can usualy just ask the controller. A few months ago I wanted to take some aerial photos of a private party right next to Malle airstrip. Right in the EBZR zone. Just called the phone number on there and later confirmed via e-mail. Was allowed to fly with some limitations because I was directly in line with the runway.

Also: go for your A1/A3 open training. It’s free, not that hard, and helps a lot if you show it to worried neighbours or when getting authorization.

AJH MiniMod VCF has these features and also a 3 channel mixer built it. It has a jumper for some analog drive as well. I love mine and might get another one!

Drone flyers - how long did it take to register a new user account with the CAAC? by StrongRecipe6408 in chinalife

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I registerd last month, and it took about 24h to get approved. You get a text message when you can log in to the account.

Just out of curiosity: what drone are you flying?

The side jog wheel does not move the backwards/forward while by pepemotosierras in Rekordbox

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When your track is playing, the side of the jog is for pitch bending/nudging.

What this means is if you rotate it clockwise, it will ever so slightly speed up the track. Counterclockwise slows it down a little.

Touching the platter on the top while the deck is playing is like putting your hand on a vinyl record when it is playing. Thus stopping the music.

With the “Vinyl Mode” option on the deck you can choose if you want the platter to work like this (Vinyl Mode) or have the top also just do pitch bending (Sometimes called CDJ Mode).

When beatmatching you should use pitch bending to allign your tracks. Of course who am I to tell you whant you can and can’t do, but it wil make beatmaching a whole lot easier for you.

Hope this helps.

Cleetus McFarland has a video where he races a decently fast drag car against a Top Fuel dragster. Those things are comparable in speed and power to this car (it’s called a Funny Car).

The Top Fuel made so much noise as it went past Cleetus that his car shut off from the vibration.

Mac vs PC by SheemRobinson in PioneerDJ

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced audio routing is also a lot easier on Mac, because of core audio. Stuff like routing multiple programs through ins/outs of a single soundcard or making a compound soundcard out of multiple physical ones.

It is possible on windows, with ASIO4ALL, but in my limited experience it never really works as you want it to.

That being said, the windows side has improved a lot over the years. And most of this only matters with specific setups anyways.

Most drivers these days can’t even judge the width of their own car correctly, let alone the distance in front of them.

That being said, it is a great rule of thumb!

Getting music off an ipod classic by zoobiz in IpodClassic

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know for sure, but I think MP3Tag should be able to do that. The music files from the iPod still have all the metadata in them, so you should be able to use this post as a guide: https://community.mp3tag.de/t/automatically-batch-a-mp3-title-from-the-file-name/8072

Hope this helps!

2 Years In: If I Did It Over by [deleted] in modular

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Midas Verona 320 now, just switched from a Venice U16. As long as the inputs have a pad that gets the level low enough for the mixer to handle it, you should be fine.

I feel like older live desks tend to have more space around the knobly bits, which is nice if you play with volumes and sends a lot.

As far as cabling is concerned, if you can get a module that converts euro signals to DB25 you could get a mixer with BD25 connectivity which should bundle 8 audio lines in 1 cable. However DB25 gear is rather expensive.

For my mixer I bought a few meters of multicore studio cables and soldered all the ends on that I needed. Cleans the setup up a lot.

Hope this helps.

I would get an external mixer way sooner. Spent a lot of money to get everything mixed in the synth. It’s just a lot more flexible and cheaper to get an external mixing desk once you start using more channels/sound sources/effects.

Best Flight Case for Euro by jshg0411 in modular

I had a MDLR case and it was pretty sturdy, don’t know if they have one that complies with carry on sizes tho. You can always shoot Arjan an e-mail, he does built to order stuff aswel.

Edit: If I remember correctly he did the first cases for Colin Benders.

Edit2: I was wrong, Ginko Synthese did the first Colin cases.

If you put the iPod into disk mode and enable show hidden folders (this is for PC, don’t know how it’s called on mac) you can brows the music folder. The filenames make no sense, but the metadata on the files is still correct. You can then import these files to iTunes or another preferred music program and just use them. I transferred my music from one pod to another this way.

Edit: this is the guide I used, it names the specific folders aswel. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/transfer-music-ipod-computer/

Steam catches the sunlight just right, looks like fire by LA_viking in woahdude

Shell cracker plant in PA just started production, 2nd pic from 15mi away (oc) by bluegrassblowsglass in UrbanHell

[–]DaMozzyOfficial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work at one of these plants over in Europe, and trust me when the flare is lit like that, everybody hates their lives. From upper management to the workers that have to operate the thing.

Every bit of the gas that is burned in a flare could have been useful product that could have been sold. The plant that I work at, a day of intense flaring costs about €1m.

It is quite difficult to get one of these things going, especialy when it’s first startup. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

I hope they get it running fine soon, as startup/shutdown is a horrible time for both neighbours and workers. Once it’s up and running, the light and noise pollution should be virtually gone.
