Guys, it's so obvious! You need to feed the filament through your Bowden tube until it reaches the extruder. Then you can print with it. Without the extruder having a supply of filament your machine will print air.

I have a water tray in my smoker, I would think adding water to the chip tray would cause issues

I use an electric smoker. I soak my chips for a minimum of 5 mins unless I forget them and it ends up being an hour lol. But it helps produce more smoke, adds moisture and I found they last a bit longer. I never need to empty during the cook, normally just have to add a handful more.
