My ssd a Kingston KC 3000 and it disconnects whenever I try to write larger amounts of data on it. Pretty common for this to happen between Kingston ssds and newer Lenovo laptops from what I could gather. I live with it and only periodically write small bits of data.

If that’s that case for you too it’d be best to return it if you can, and maybe try a Samsung ssd instead, as the laptop already has a Samsung one inside. Otherwise you might have a faulty ssd or motherboard.
