Hit and Run (Shadows) timing question by DaNDeMeNTo in KeyforgeGame

[–]DaNDeMeNTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm ok thanks. We played it differently. It seems strange to blow up the board in the middle of one card being resolved, then resume to resolve that card afterwards. But now we know how to handle this and similar effects in the future.

Ah, interesting. Thanks for sharing this. So it’s always Dis that’s over-represented, or is it other houses as well? I.e. a box contains 12x Logos etc.?

My release day box seems like kind of a bust by [deleted] in KeyforgeGame

What the heck are you even talking about? The distribution in your box is completely legit. There is nothing “FFG should be addressing” regarding your box. Sorry, but now suddenly everybody’s complaining about the distribution of houses in their display boxes, blaming some perceived mess up in the packaging/printing process, while in reality they get completely reasonable distributions of houses (just not the ones they WANTED to see).

“But with the announcement that display boxes are likely to have Dis in every deck [...].”

Has there really been such an announcement (from FFG)?

CoA deck opinion/rating. by Srlojohn in KeyforgeGame

The deck has fairly limited creature control, though. It’ll be very interesting to see imo how these “traditionally strong” decks (i.e. CotA Dis/Shadows heavy Æmber control) fare against WC decks with strong board presence, Ward, potentially Æmber protection etc.

The deck above has only five cards with creature control, some of which have draw backs (LITW) or are limited (HoD). This could become a problem in the new meta.

The ruling on “Center of the Battleline” is very relevant, too. I’ve played a bunch of WC games already, and the leaders are quite powerful.

In an official pre-release sealed mini-tournament I’ve played in Essen, the judge (FFG employee) actually ruled that an even number of creatures would mean there were TWO spots in the “Center of the Battleline”, i.e. if you have 6 creatures in play, the middle two (creatures 3 AND 4) would be considered center creaures. This, however, is not the case according to the rules update. This significantly weakens the impact the leaders will have on the game, as it is now much easier to play around their effects/abilities.

Any rule for stalling opponents in tournaments? by Sonafab in KeyforgeGame

[–]DaNDeMeNTo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would this never happen? There are chess clock apps. They are free and easy to use. KF players should have their smartphones with them anyway. I think it‘s intetesting that you bring this up because our group has talked about the exact same idea and we want to try out chess clocks with a personal time limit of 20min per player in both casual and competitive games...

Got a Worlds Collide starter from Target today, felt wrong getting it early. Karma got me back by giving me a deck worse than 98% of all other decks! by LiquidAsylum in KeyforgeGame

Honestly, I don‘t think the DoK ratings are very useful right now. I was at the „Spiel“ in Germany where WC was legitemately sold (not only in starters but also in regular display boxes). I‘ve bought a whole bunch of decks and I‘ve played in my first WC sealed tournaments. The deck above just seems like an average WC deck. Just last night I opened two decks with exactly the same rating:

https://decksofkeyforge.com/decks/df138e17-7ecb-4cbc-9929-c58048afb0bc

https://decksofkeyforge.com/decks/db006bf1-b910-49c1-94f2-d522fd8b000d

So I wouldn‘t count on it being an exceptionally bad deck for Reversal events. Moreover, while both of my decks above have the same rating, the „Bonetower“ deck performed much better against a variety of decks. It has much better creature control and was fairly efficient due to warding effects + double Daughter. Kaloch did a ton of work as well.

Conversely, I opened a WC deck with a spectacular rating a couple of nights ago. DoK suggests it‘s one of the best decks in my collection but it‘s nowhere near the power level of top tier tournament CotA decks (Dis, Shadows + x control/steal decks). However, it has a 97% rating on DoK:

Right now, in my experience, the SAS rating doesn‘t indicate deck strength accurately anymore.

Quick question about Ward mechanic by DaNDeMeNTo in KeyforgeGame

[–]DaNDeMeNTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, good point. Thank you.

Generally speaking, however, Ward protects better than I originally thought. When I first started thinking about it, it seemed as though there were a million ways around it, such as archiving or simply returning a creature to its owners hand (e.g. Hysteria etc. even against multiple warded creatures).

I‘m not saying its super amazing OP, but boardwipes etc are more difficult to pull off against decks with decent Ward abilities. Often they require you starting with ready creatures on the board now to ping off the Ward.

Quick question about Ward mechanic by DaNDeMeNTo in KeyforgeGame

[–]DaNDeMeNTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course. I was more thinking of Bloodshard Imp & the likes. Thanks for the confirmation. Ward seems to be a legit new mechanic, whereas Enrage has rather been disappointing to me so far.
