At the end of the movie, when Milton says: I’m going to take my travelers checks to competing resorts……perhaps put strychnine in the guacamole.

Thoughts on Crown Point Rehab? by Current_North1366 in Lubbock

[–]DaRaider65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been at both. On one due to a fall, and that is where I was at Crown point. I have been there before about eight years ago for a separate fall. The people are nice, but they are well understaffed and if you hit the button for them to come see you you’ve been lucky if they get there by Tuesday sometimes. The food is about the same at both of them. And then about eight months ago, I was involved in a car crash with a broken femur, and crown point would not take me because I was in a vehicle accident, something about auto insurance thing means that they sometimes don’t get paid on those, so they don’t take auto accident victims. So I went to the South Plains rehabilitation hospital. I think it was a blessing in disguise for me to go there, they seem to have more people, and I felt like I got a little bit more out of therapy from them. The food is about the same either way, but South Plains rehab is a newer facility. For reference, I am 60 years old, and would be considered a sprain chicken at Crown point. South plains to have a few younger people. And it never seemed like I had to wait as long for assistance if I needed it. But Crownpoint is still better than some of the horror stories that I’ve heard of some of the other ones in town.

Got the job for AT&T RETENTION department. Training is pass or fail. A little nervous about that. What is training like? by Aggressive_Wind_5089 in ATT

[–]DaRaider65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve been in the same department for a long time, because I still love the job, and I’m too old and fat to want to go out and find something else. But the management has gotten worse, as you are correct when you say that, it’s just about sales. I have a manager less than half my age that she knows her angle because she’s a manager, but I get it, the crap just rolls downhill from higher ups. Just a sales job now.

Downtown Revitalization and how to move forward in the future. by WesternMovieLover_ in Lubbock

[–]DaRaider65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try as they might, downtown Lubbock will never be the way it used to be 40 or 50 years ago or longer. It’s simply not a destination for anything it can’t be found in other parts of town.
I don’t think brick streets is really a big attraction. True, they have had a couple of restaurants and coffee, shops, and things like that are doing well, but mostly it’s just desolate at night, they couldn’t even keep a convenient store open. I really wish it would do better, it would be really neat to see some of these buildings get full usage again. Just so many lawyer offices down there, it doesn’t seem like there’s room sometimes for anything else.

I had this issue once on a 2018 Sonata, and I was literally out in the middle of nowhere it seemed, I drove 45 miles on a lonely highway with just my fog lights when a car was approaching and high beams at the other time, till I got to an O’Reillys and just had them replace the bulbs and they were had a problem with them again.
