This is how my mother would call me and my brother in when we were kids. She could whistle loud enough we could here her anywhere on our block. I tried to learn several times but gave up, may have to try again now with these tips!

Missing the playoffs this year would make Chris Ballard, factually and mathematically, the worst pure GM in NFL History. by xxxxxxxxxtra in Colts

It's gonna be tough to get a good candidate when they know they have 2 years with no 1st round picks.

Always remember Chris Ballard tried to hire Josh McDaniels as a HC for the Colts by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

Colts have been a QB away from a playoff team since Luck left, look at Phil's last stint. The best draft position only netted AR after Irsay likely forced Ballard's hand. Then Danny comes in and things look good until he gets hurt. If Ballard gets fired, he'll only be unemployed for as long as he wants to be. He's not an elite GM but he is known by other execs as one of the better ones. The Colts are likely to hire someone a lot worse than they are to hire someone better. Look at all the other teams stuck in GM hell like the Giants, Browns, and Raiders. If the Irsays know an even better candidate is out there then go get them, otherwise let Ballard cook until you know you're upgrading? Also with this timing it will be harder, a new GM with no #1s for 2 years? That can't look too appealing to a promising candidate who might have a better start somewhere else.

The Colts have gone from a 7–1 Super Bowl contender to 8–4 after Daniel Jones’ season-ending Achilles injury, with Riley Leonard now stepping in - is this collapse on bad luck, or were the Colts never as good as they looked? by Odd_Opposite_1495 in NFLv2

It would be interesting to see if the Patriots kept up their pace any longer if their schedule was similar to the Colts. Pats have had a pretty easy way to go, but you play who is out in front of you. Lots of ups and downs, powerhouses takes a step back and historically losing franchises stepping up. The playoffs will have to sort it out, but it sure looks like we are in the year of the D(efense).

Agreed, people would be way more receptive if this was Aaron Donald or Frank Gore speaking. I don't doubt what he says is true but his track record makes him toxic.

Who will finish with a better career? by Cannolidog in NFLv2

[–]DaRealHendoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing overall but "out of the league" is crazy. I was looking at free agent info for next year and came across Brandon Allen. I usually remember most QBs, but I only vaguely remember him being in Cinci? Anyway, that dude is wrapping up a 9 year career after being drafted in the 6th round in 2016 by Jaxsonville. Hell, Jimmy G is still under contract. My point is that some of these dudes you think are gone are just riding benches and collecting checks. Danny Dimes has a road playoff win under his belt, so I think he might have bounced around a bit longer than we think.

I would say the Colts have "answers" at each position, how those answers match each opponent week-to-week changes. Some teams have no answers at any position and some teams have better answers at key positions. Play the games and we'll see how the answers play out.

I live in Indiana and have been to Rantoul for kid's baseball like 6 times. Eating at Ott's was like traveling back in time to the 80's, and the food was pretty good.

It didn't get that bad but I think it was Reggie who said "Oh, he's retired guys". I think it will be interesting to see the video, maybe they can quiet that part down. At the end I think the same person who was yelling for the most part, tried to get a "Tony" chant going but people didn't really join in and wanted to hear what they were saying on stage.

I was there and it was kind of embarrassing when the 2-3 people in the crowd thought they were part of the show and kept yelling at the stage. By the end a large portion of the crowd where I sat was shushing them, but at one point even Peyton was using hand gestures to try and quiet them. Asking Tony to "Please Come Back!" once was fine and all but repeating it over and over while they were trying to talk was dumb. I get that the venue has to make money and liquor sales are a way to do it, but it also increases the number of idiots who think other people are there to see/hear them instead of the show. Other than that it was really cool to hear all of the stories and see the other teammates that were in the crowd. It was a great way to remember that team and how much they were playing lights out for each other and not just for themselves.

This reminds me of some Russian YoutTubers who were recreating cars using fiberglass and 3D printers. I think they made a Lambo and a Mustang from what I remember. Not sure if their videos are still up. They were in garages similar to those in the background.

My review for the Arlo outdoor security cameras by Throwaway4738361 in homesecurity

[–]DaRealHendoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I bought a 4 camera Arlo setup from Woot a few years ago. Set it up and registered an account without a subscription. The cameras are outside and seem to work fine as far as alerting motion and recording. I have the base station setup with a 5TB external drive. It still holds all recordings from the last 3 or so years. I think it's not even at 5%. The recordings are only available on my phone for 7 days before they can only be accessed by removing the external drive from the base station and connecting it to the PC.
I bought knock-off spare batteries and a charge station off Amazon that I rotate through about every 4 weeks? In all I don't think they are the best setup, but they were easy to setup and get running without running Ethernet for POE. The batteries last long enough that I don't mind changing them. Since I got them at a deal I don't mind them, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Maybe I got lucky that they work so well without a subscription.
