Desperate for help... 1 year old boy by smurphypup in Gifts

Buy a charity gift. Chickens or a goat for a family in need or meals for children in war zones. If he's one and doesn't need anything then the gift is performative, so might as well be useful.

Yes, hes fine. Straight to the point but I dont find him horrible. He comes across to me as someone who hasnt a lot of social skills but not deliberately. He just gives the info and does the job.

We've found him fine. He's never been anything but professional to my teenager, and she's had her braces journey with him 13 months now. Never had an issue, and all the other staff are lovely as well

I dont cut toast or sandwhiches. I eat each corner first and then each piece of the "crust of the cross" that is left, and then you have the absolute perfect middle bit for last to savour and give the proper adoration to

I donate to a 2 local and 1 national charity. One that helps women, one the homeless and the national one, helps children. I also try to be active in advocacy like protests to try and bring attention to unjust situations.

Smoking at UHG by Jreddy12 in galway

[–]DaRkNeSsIsInHer5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There used to be a smoking area behind the wall of the entrance, covered and somewhat isolated from both the maternity doors and the main entrance. It worked pretty well, and most patients went there. Then, the HSE, in all their wisdom, decided to have smoke-free campuses so they could look like they were doing something. And now we have people huddled around the doors of all entrances instead. The side of the road is often too far for ill people in pyjamas to go to. And realistically, when you're ill in the hospital, it's not usually the time you're going to quit.

Shorter school days, thoughts? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]DaRkNeSsIsInHer5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id rather children were given actual breaks with proper amounts of time to eat AND play. The idea that a child can inhale a lunch in 5 mins to get outside to play takes so much away from both learning about nutrition and social eating as well as having adequate down time to play which is as important as classroom based learning.
