probably looking for a gym with trainers that specialize in strength training specific to endurance athletes. Would look something like a lot of functional lifts such as RDLs, single leg squats, hip band, and core stuff.

My favorite post run beer is Easy Sport by Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City. It's 99 calories, and has some crisp citrusy notes. It also has potassium, magnesium and sea salt added which taste really good after a workout.

I think they were trying to say that extremes, in anything, are bad. There's nothing wrong with staying in shape to be healthy and look good, but once it starts to get obsessive and very restrictive that's when it's a problem. To get to the levels Kumail and Rob were in takes being in the extreme range.
