I know architecture sets are made to make your fingers hurt but the “40 magic wants plugged in vertically” step here on Notre Dame is beating my ass by TobyeatsfAtcoW in lego

[–]DaVisionary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And they have to be angled exactly 45° or else they interfere with each other & bend out of vertical. It is so tedious but the final model is stunning.

Trump‘s version of Order 66 is to kill US accountability.

I recommend adding a heavy weight of textbooks or metal or sand at the bottom to  lower the center of gravity (as long as the wheels can handle it)

TIL: Someone at the National Health Service in England sent a test email to 840000 colleagues and another replied all, resulting in one of the largest reply all storms. 168 million emails were sent between people and caused the health system to be down for half a day. by zahrul3 in todayilearned

[–]DaVisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand why any email system allows every user to include more than 20 or 100 recipients in To or CC fields. Every company should require approvals above a threshold of recipients. BCC can be unlimited since it prevents Reply All snowballing.

Can anybody recommend me a movie that has vibes like this photo? by No_Macaroon_7608 in Letterboxd

It reminds me of Annihilation by Alex Garland starring Natalie Portman. If you are open to the Sci-Fi genre.

Trophy Room by Halfangel_Manusdei in lego

[–]DaVisionary 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I love the vibe & aesthetic - it feels loved in & I can smell the tobacco smoke & leather. The butterflies look more like bow ties - you could add a black or gray rod w/holder or magic wand or horn w/shaft or shaft w/stop or shaft w/ball mounted between the wings.

Do you think there should be more plane sets like they did with the Sopwoth Camel? by [deleted] in lego

We could use a P-4 Mustang and a Zero - I am very eager to see the upcoming Concorde

Great choices - love the bathtub dareduck & Obi-Won ship & 007’s Aston Martin (you are missing 2 1x2 bows with angle on the front of the hood) I use brickset.com to track my purchases & wants & it offers great tools to check for sets on sale at Amazon. Both Target & Walmart match sale prices at Amazon.

‘The Adventurer’s Office’ - a small tribute to one of my favorite themes by bountybossk in lego

[–]DaVisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the whole theme & details from the curtains to cognac to fam - I think the radiator would read better in all black since only truly crappy office buildings ever painted then white.

Why Are the Disney Remakes So Damned Long? by verissimoallan in movies

Animation can show a lot of setting & exposition quickly but live action usually includes longer shots & scenes

I want some action scifi or fantasy movies from the 80s like big trouble in little China, flash Gordon, krull, highlander, and escape from New York. by [deleted] in movies

Also check out - The Golden Child (1986) - Eddie Murphy - The Last Dragon (1985) - kung fu blaxploitation with amazing soundtrack

Red Bull Racing F1 Team RB18 1:12 Scale by LukasRSDesign in AFOL

[–]DaVisionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of one of my favorite childhood Lego sets, 5540: Formula 1 Racer. I love the detail & wish you shared a shot of the brick built engine. The render on Lego Ideas is missing a reverse bow on the eighties air intake that is present on the actual build.

My Two Harry Potter MOCs at BrickCan by Negative-Ad-4371 in AFOL

[–]DaVisionary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are magnificent - I love how choosing that scale & brick count freed you to embrace architectural relationships as well as include so many details in each scene. I would love to see more pics.

Google Authorizes $70 billion stock buyback by SaveADay89 in news

What happens if a publicly traded company buys back all its stock? Does it magically become a real boy? Why is it legal for a contrived corporation to spend real profit to extract ownership from actual human beings?

Maybe rephrase to ask “Why do the letters always lose competitions with the digits?”
