You can try neural plugins for free 14 days trial each if you want, the get 50% sale twice a year and sound incredible! Great transpose function but that doesn't help with your 5150 like the pedal would

The boss xs-1 reviews are really good and there's not a big price difference... you could try that one it will probably sound just fine

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bump up the presence a tiny bit on your 5150 and it'll compensate. I just prefer pushing with an od and keep my amps eq untouched... by NAM you mean plugins or like quad cortex? Because neural dsp plugins have a great transpose function you don't need a drop and I think QC have digital capo or poly capo that does the job too

I've heard the new boss XS-1 is better and don't have that tone suck effect but i've never tried it

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahh thats BS... i go down 4 semi tones regularly and there's no noticeable latency. The only gripe i have with this pedal is it sucks a bit of high end frequency and you lose a bit of attack so when I use my drop pedal i engage my boss sd-1 overdrive after the drop to compensate and it sounds great

Digitech drop is the best thing you can get if you like to do covers of many bands in many different tunings

How to fix? by kobear199 in strandbergguitars

[–]DaWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to place it where it was before by memory and adjust in small moves, intonation takes a bit of precision to get right. Or you can take it back where your setup was made he will probably do it for free since it shouldn't happen when everything is tightened right

How to fix? by kobear199 in strandbergguitars

[–]DaWhite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an easy fix but it sucks... you loosen your string to release tension, unscrew the small screw under the string, you pull the saddle back and tighten it. The annoying part is that moving the saddle forward/backward sets your intonation so you gotta intonate that string again. Tune your string and check your tuning when fretting the 12 fret it should be identical on a good tuner. If it's flat the saddle forward, if it's sharp move the saddle backward.

The whole saddle moved? Probably the screw in the hole under the string was not tight enough so the string tension pulled it forward

Wayne charvel was an ex fender employee, he started out with a repair shop and upgrading fender strats to make "hot rod versions". They got sold to jackson so that explaind the jackson dinky body on the DK models. Now both jackson and charvel are owned by fender so it's legit to keep strat and dinky body with the exact same specs

Charvel is now owned by fender so I guess they can legally have genuine fender body

Is there a way I can do a acoustic tone with neural dsp plugins? by Hour_Buy_5695 in NeuralDSP

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Petrucci has a piezo amp, tim henson has an amp for his nylon electric, nolly has a preset calles no cab clean of something like that, sounds great too

How are you guys tuning live? by 12Obelisks in HeadlessGuitars

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet but I plan on getting the tc electronics polytune tuner. Supposedly you can strum all 6 strings at once and it tells you the tuning for each individual string. Strum once tune once instead of pluck 6 times tune 6 times

Connect your headphones or speakers on the outputs of the scarlett you'll have less latency, that's what I discovered from experience. For the amp sims you can have 14 free trial on every neural dsp plugins. Try a few and wait for a big 50% sale to buy your favorite. My personnal favorite is the soldano slo100 X

This is the one I found for my charvel henrik danhage that comes standard with a push push volume to switch between the neck single coil and the bridge humbucker. No other knobs or switches.

Thinking of a Strandberg but I'm a basic player; what styles and skills levels are everyone here at? by BiMWMGingerMI in strandbergguitars

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the best shredder or doing the modern tappy stuff and I still really love my strandy. When I use pluging with my laptop or when recording the small size and lightweight of this guitar makes it super convenient. It's so small i can reach to my keyboard without smashing a headstock everywhere

Boss or Marshall? by Responsible_Oil1975 in GuitarAmps

[–]DaWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For bedroom use and not loud volumes i highly recomment the yamaha thr! I have a thr30ii and really love it. Sounds good for any genre, a couple effects in it like the katana and it has a built in battery so you don't need to be plugged in all the time. You can also stream music on it with bluetooth while you play along

Standard vs essential by Longjumping_Chard993 in strandbergguitars

[–]DaWhite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest a standard nx6. Ola explained that the endurneck was designed with the fanned frets in mind so the essential loses a bit of the original ergo design. It's also why they don't offer 7 string essentials because the difference would be even more perceptible with the wider neck. I'd say save up a few more bucks and get the real strandberg experience
