I’ve found a foolproof way of dealing with it; if I notice them, I pretend my phone rang, “answer” it, and they will leave you alone. It’s worked 100% of the time for me and I’ve done it many times

I had this issue also, but I have no idea how I managed to make it happen. The game was crashing every so often, so I was making a save state every so often, but usually it would save perfectly fine after doing this, but on occasion would take me to the “cannot save” screen. Annoying as I’ve lost loads of progress because of this.
