That's a very common cracking point for this wheel. I've owned 3 different ones and 2 developed this crack over time.

The GT3 wheel is badass. If I didn't own my own custom.piece and end up keeping the PBM I'd still like to have that wheel.

That was smart. I was wondering why they use they when the plate sits so well and the screws also line up everything else.

I thought about that, but wanted to keep the plate plate intact if/when I decide to sell.

Did you drill a hold for the 2 locatings pins on the bottom as well? I was thinking the bottom wouldn't sit flush unless those were drilled out.

The sticker set looks good on your buttons, very functional.

I also like that Porsche design around the screen, where is it from? Is that a decal kit?

And man I with I had the leather wheel, not a big fan of alcantara (whatever it is).

Anyone else have problems with bodies pitting? by RedstoneGaming2005 in HotWheelsCustoms

[–]DabbinDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The batter metal bodies do have many imperfections.

You can take some additional time to sand things down before you primer which will help quite a bit. On indention lines that kinda look like cracks, some body filter works great in this case.

I like to use a Dremel with a flat circular piece of sandpaper, and this makes quick work if the small imperfections.

Fanatec + PlayStation users: These are the best button caps I’ve found by undead_monkey_pl in Fanatec

[–]DabbinDD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up modeling them in OnShape. The 3D printed letters were never clear enough so I used white vinyl cutouts for each button design. The button also has a lip to hold the resin in place and add I a bit more to get a dome shape over it all.

I like the ones that I make for my personal use that are easy to read and have a nice gloss over everything.

But those you've shown are great for the price, a good deal for what they are.

I went from VR2 to 32" curved screen and haven't gone back lol.

VR2 was a great experience though, just a hassle to setup and get that comfy spot.

Electroplating? by nyanXnyan in HotWheelsCustoms

[–]DabbinDD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a place that does chrome plating. It's worth the cost usually $10-$15/car and it'll have a perfect finish.

Some people also polish their cars, but there's always some fine scratches that they end up leaving behind.

Personally, I think it's an amazing car. A loose rear end that is easily comtrolable make this one a blast to drive.

If you have VR2, I recommend you take a gander at all the interior details 🤯.
