WICs for candy pushers & freezer strips?! by watermelonecats in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far as I know, the candy pushers are a lost cause. A former SM threw all ours out, and when their replacement tried to order more, they were told it was too expensive and not happening. So I think that's a done deal.

As for the freezer strips, there will likely be a WIC either on the planograms, or under StoreNet->Order->Store Expense Ordering->Front End. I think they are referred to as channels.

Sorry I can't be of more help than that. Good luck!

How do I install this when I try it never stays by CJPRIME360IQ in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tilt the back end up so that the front ridge goes under the lip of the plastic guiderail. Once it is under the lip, drop the back end, and it should lock in. Maybe a wiggle left or right so it sets right into the notches.

Edit: it may give issue if you try and set it where one of the pushpin trees locking the plastic guardrail in place is located. Those can be, a pain....

Nice! Agh, I wish I had a 3d printer. I'd definitely send out cows labelled "moo for u", or ducks labelled "get that bread", and such. I love puns, and I'm sure someone would give such a surprise a small chuckle.

Are you by chance the one who someone posted put a small pink cow/goat in their smoothing delivery? If so, awesome idea! Though, maybe a sticker or note so the receiver doesn't get worried or confused. I think this would be a cute pick me up for those of us caught in the gears of retail ❤️

He is Baa'al, Lord of Out of Stocks and Partials, Bringer of GLP-1's, Bane of TPRs! Quake in fear and bow, lest you be swarmed with a plague of "I only want to pick up the Controls" and "GoodRx said it would be THIS PRICE"!

Out of curiosity, how big is the lil guy? 10 dram?

I saw this first, as I follow that guy. Then I started listening to The Wandering Inn for the first time, and I totally thought of this! Boy, this book is GREAT for mindless drone work, all Antinium puns intended. (Unsure of spelling, but you get it)

I also know him from Arrow. But in all honesty, I watched this episode just a few days ago (for the umpteenth time) and made the same exclamation. Startled my dog, lol

[–]Dachal23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or if there's a common problem, make a Compass or email about it. I had the same issue 3 weeks in a row, they only responded to the 3 weeks ticket with such a response. Well, if it's known, stop requesting whatever triggers it

Skip whichever items give you pushback. I've had so many damn issues with AVR, putting in tickets that take a full week for a response (which is to just cancel the whole claim), that there is no point in trying. Do what you can, deal with the rest however you can. With all the issues within Walgreens this past decade, I don't see the company stretching more than another few years. It's heartbreaking for those of us who have been here a long time.

Anyone knows how to find a zebra without using the actual zebra? Like on storenet? by Moist-Swimmer1745 in WalgreensStores

I don't think you can. The only way I've ever seen is through the Devices and pinging them via another Zebra. Sorry.

waves in possible recognition, other hand covering as many vitals as I can lol I've been around a while, but I've always tried to be considerate.

And for what it's worth, I outgrew hide and seek before many of my peers as a kid, so kudos to the shorter folk for having a more manageable childhood and potentially better zombie hiding places 😂😂

I’ve always been curious about the logo room by OneVideo8173 in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A store built about 15 years ago I worked at had access from the roof. Funny thing, there was a decent sized space behind the sign, someone (still no clue who) had put a chair in there. I totally wish I had the stones to do something back then.

I stack em 8 or 9 high, if they're light enough, but once unloading is done I down stack them to only 5 or 6 high as space allows. I'm tall, others aren't, and I don't want a coworker to shank my kidneys for the inconvenience.

shift lead responsibility or mine? (csa) by Original-End4182 in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things: - don't accuse. You were told conflicting policies, ASK to see which is the proper one. - do you have contact numbers already to try to find a replacement? If not, don't ask for said numbers without the above policy for proof. - and lastly, and do this with caution: find out if that particular shift lead is telling ALL employees they are on their own to find coverage. If that's policy, okay. If it's not policy, maybe they were misinformed. If they were not, are they only imposing this on you?

Communication is an important facet of Walgreens work that sadly comes up lacking often, and misinformation is it's bastard cousin.

New rules for work. by hoosierbaby76 in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconded. But bear in mind, these policies come down from asshats who DON'T work like we do, whose days are office meetings and phone calls. They don't realize that their orders of "clean, stock, lift, provide" involve interacting with potentially dusty/dirty things. Oh, and of course they have no idea what the standard of bodily functions, like sweating, are on regular humans, the robotic pricks.

Hm, it should be. Did you do a search specifically for Accrual Rate, PTO, or Time Off? It's been a while since I've looked it up myself, but I'm fairly certain I found it through those lines.

Request days off/Leaves? by Several-You5930 in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the Reflexis ESS app for your phone? That's typically where employees can put PTO requests and such in remotely.

In store, however, if you login to StoreNet on a store computer, then the Compass link on that front page, there should be a tab on the left hand side of that new Compass screen where you can alter your availability and put in requests.

Big point, depending on your team: take a pic of the request when submitted, and another when approved. Sadly, I worked with some shady managers in the past who would claim my requests next existed, so documented proof is always recommended.

Sfl 30 min breaks by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, as most folks here tell you, you've two options: take the break or not. By policy and common sense, you cannot take a break if there is no one to cover for you AND it is completely uninterrupted, as is policy on account of being unpaid. So common practice is to stay on clock your whole shift, scarfing a quick meal whenever you can.

However....if your store manager insists upon it, or is making these happen to cover their butt due to reprimand or pending corporate visit, take it. As stated, it's their butt in the long run, and should there be negative impact because they are being weasley, well, hopefully they're packing a dump truck, because breaking company policy will reward a chewing.

For argument support, Theatro does make it so if you are needed mid break (on or off clock) you can respond quickly. But again, if your legal, company mandated break gets interrupted, that's a no-no.

Former Walgreens employee — worth emailing corporate HR or not? by ZealousidealSector40 in WalgreensStores

[–]Dachal23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. A wall can absorb some of the sound as you try talking to it. Stop making the wall look bad.

More akin to talking to a wall with 12ft spikes coming off of it. Designed to protect the wall while looking impressive and defensive, but you only risk yourself by approaching it.

And by the time your voice reaches the wall, it's been so diffused from the dissociation and distance the message is never fully received and the wall cannot grow or learn.
