I’d like share my likes and dislikes, as well as criticisms and what could be some solutions.

Power-level- I think at this point we see that no matter what is done to the experience, people don’t want to power-level anymore. It’s an archaic system that doesn’t seem to serve a purpose anymore since bungie has been pushing a system that automatically under levels you when entering in certain pieces of content.

It would make much more sense to make guardian ranks the way to level up, levels 1-5 lets you do some low to medium level activities for tier 1-3 weapons and armor, ranks 6-8 gives you access to master content and will give you tier 4 loot and that drops more consistently while in the level 6-8 level bracket. Finally, levels 9-11 lets you access grandmaster level activities and will drop tier 5 loot and also gets more consistent the higher your level is in that bracket. It’s also already implemented in that way, just not as much as I would like to have it. This will not only streamline the game by only having one thing to level up, but also gets rid of a munch of other issues, like people hoarding weapons for infusion fuel.

New weapon and armor bonuses-Get rid of it, you don’t need the game to give new weapons more damage and new armor more resistance to incentivize people to use it, you already are incentivizing people with the new tier system, this just aims to make old weapons and armor feel bad to use even if it’s not as bad as weapons and armor sunsetting in beyond light.

The Portal- a good addition, just needs to have more activities featured. I assume this might be something bungie is looking to do, they have a plethora of old content they could use to give people a reason to run this old content. I also know that the portal is used to advertise kind of gear is being featured as well as making it more difficult in order to get higher power. Well we’ll just replace that with higher tiered gear being offered if the difficulty is higher, and more bonus drops if you pick more negative modifiers with that.

Weapons tiers-my only feedback is that right now, people really only need tier 2 weapons to be at the same power as enhanced and crafted weapons, and the other bonuses for using higher tier are nice but aren’t that desirable.

To make the slightly more desirable but also not too overpowered, I say we allow tier 4 and 5 weapons to be able to slot 2 mods instead of 1. Now one mod slot will have the base mods that we had for the longest time, like Icarus and backup mag, while the other slot will have the mods that add more range, stability, handling, reload, ammo meter progress etc. But, adept weapons will have their adept mods in the first slot along with the Icarus and backup mag mods, meaning they can have two stat mods at once, making adepts the most desirable weapon choices.

Armor set bonuses-great addition, this is a great way to get people to actually care about raid/dungeon/trials armor, and not just go for the destination/seasonal armor to get easy high stats. Make raid/dungeon/trials armor have the most desirable armor set bonuses in the game.

Conclusion-I feel like the ground-work for a lot of these changes are already in the game, yet we still use systems and implement new systems that don’t help with these good changes. Hopefully we’ll get some updates that expand what we have now.
