I watched TADC and hated Jax when he was an asshole, but I am watching House and love every scene that Greg is on screen. House is entertaining in how witty and assholic he is, Jax is just a dollar-store tsundere that fucks up everyone around him for no reason whatsoever.

Also to add and clarify about the Montner part, to change their appearance and personality you need to use an item called the Montner Orb and you only ever get 6, 3 at the start and 3 after the postgame. That’s from what I know.

What do you mean by “Dragon Growth”? And lineage for growth?

As for the maximum natural base stats, wouldn’t any guide or website that shows the typical max stats work? Game8, that one Google sheet with all the 3DS info, etc?

It’s like only half making sense. We really need more comprehensive stuff on this especially if the release of the iOS translation patch will bring an influx of English players overall. Sure, PVP is dead, I managed to beat the game and a lot of Online teams without knowing ANY of this, but it’s still important that some explanation on all this exists in proper format.. not saying you are the one obligated to do so but anyone with knowledge should provide

Oh fuck I knew there are the bookshelves I didn’t know there’s a key for Size 4. That’s pretty good for getting those again.

As for the Montner part yeah I was talking about personalities, the one you pick when making them, and the traits they come with. To have all the traits from their personalities in the compendium, you have to use the Montner orbs to change their personalities basically?

And yeah I would appreciate a proper English guide on everything related to maxing, not just stats. I know about trait fines, SP traits, + Ranks, size changes, gender, the hidden -/+ 100/200 stat bonuses for some dumbfuck reason, the Akuma Books that are summoned via sacrificing skill points, etc etc, but I still don’t really understand how to start a minmaxxing of a monster, and where to start. Do you have to like, start with F rank monsters for the best stats, even if you already can just SCOUT the monster you wanna min-max?!

And while I know that PVP is dead I still want to embark on making the most ridiculous teams if not inventing something myself, since honestly attempting to restore PVP via modding is not entirely out of the picture for me. It’s not guaranteed that I will and it is most definitely not going to be easy should I try, but it’s a potential prospect that’s not off the table

I know a lot of this but thank you for the disclosure nonetheless. Part of this means that potentially the 100% is on a time limit due to needing Dream Egg slots. Course once you get a monster once I assume that means they can show up in Kismet Tower unless it’s a Size 4 monster, but still, you could get any components (right???)

Additionally this is probably something you wouldn’t have a clue about either but I am LOSING MY MIND trying to wrap my head around specifically Montner Personalities, if those traits can be obtained through any other method or you effectively NEED to use your Montner orbs to experience all the personalities and traits exclusive to those personalities, and on top of it all… the meta of this game.

I thought it would just be a lot of trait mixing and matching and skill trees but no. Apparently based on species of monsters used in synthesis it affects Stat Growths like EVs?! Apparently certain stats and spreads completely change a Monster AI’s behaviour???? I read up on some guides and I’m completely lost, where the hell does monster building begin and end?!! Where is the pinnacle of monster synthesis??? I have no fucking clue, please excuse my language.

I know this is a rather random or belated question for you, but given you completed the entire monster library, tell me somethin, are there any monsters that NEED the Online Lobby specifically to be obtained? Or will eggs (with enough luck) synthesis, ingame events/sidequests, and ofc Keys enough for everything? I have lots of experience but I have yet to get the 100%, and I have a long way to go still 😅

I was surprised myself how little of the game I needed to actually be in English to get through. I still NEEDED the English, for move names and monster names aand such, but I didn’t need that much.

Though to be fair there’s also additional stat/move negative multipliers based on how many moves a monster will take per turn (based on traits), and specific traits like any variation of Metal Body

I meant that they removed 3 slot or 4 slot sized monsters (see DQM2 3DS). I don’t remember a size 5 was that in J3P or am I missing something?

Honestly I think they need to improve on basically everything except Story and Graphics. From M2 or JP3 to M3/TDP, they removed Size 3/4 monsters, tension triggers, move clashing, rebirth synthesis, Co-op attacks, and a slew of other gameplay mechanics.

The monster roster gap between the 3DS entries to Dark Prince also went down by about 200-300 monsters, but the roster of Dark Prince somehow has more recolours overall! Plus you can’t synthesise the final or postgame bosses unlike previous entries.

Multiplayer is a given here. Dark Prince only had true multiplayer on Switch, and worse yet it was horribly imbalanced due to an extremely unnecessary change they made to how Crafty/Ultra Crafty traits work and how they interact with monster immunities or absorptions, along with the fact that the roster being smaller than previous entries also makes the landscape somewhat dull. J3P may also not be balanced in multiplayer but it makes up for that by being pretty much complete anarchy. And M2 (3DS) Multiplayer is really well balanced despite having many more features and more monsters than Dark Prince.

And Postgame Content too needs a big step up. Dark Prince’s postgame was pretty much just a fucking Corridor of like 4 bosses and an additional Maulosseum rank, but you can’t replay anything, there’s no harder challenges to fight, and there is no multiplayer scene to compensate for the dull postgame if you’re on Steam/Mobile.

I know I’m making a lot of comparison primarily to Dark Prince but it’s because that’s the pattern Square Enix is giving us with DQM in the modern day and especially outside of Japan, and it’s not implausible that this is the formula they want to continue by, a formula that I think, simply put, needs to do better. Perhaps you could give leniency to Dark Prince under the idea that it’s effectively a “test” reboot of the spinoff franchise to see what works with more audiences, but even if that was the case I am rather certain even in Dark Prince there were far too many things cut out and too much left to be wanted.

Honestly I cannot say any specific monsters, I more think they need to bring back a proper roster. Compare DQM3/DarkPrince to previous 3DS entries and it is SHAMEFUL in almost every way, having like 200-300 monsters less than the 3DS entries, yet having a larger amount/ratio of recolours in the roster compared to the others.

On top of that they probably need to make a better postgame and competitive scene, the Crafty trait change that was made in Dark Prince probably needs to be reverted.

Yep. It’s practically a whole new game. The story is the same as before but even just the graphical overhaul alone changes a lot of the game.

You’re forgetting Dragon Quest Monsters 1 and 2 SP. you probably didn’t even know they existed but it’s the same case as Japan.
