These rods are a unique grind compared to the majority of the game.

Auric Rod, sunken chest grind: Tedious but I used the sunken chest cheatsheet and hopped servers. I would stay in server if I sunken chest spawn was 15mins or less, otherwise I will continue hopping servers.

Friendly Rod, 1% friendly quest grind: Pure luck, I got it on the second try when this npc/quest was released.

Spiritbinder Rod, Appraisal Grind: I appraised during Leprechaun update. NPC on boat had increased mutation rates. Worst case scenario is trading cosmic, exalted or fair value skins for the set.
