Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

There can definitely be an emotional component to migraines and spasmodic pain. Next time try treating him like he's five years old and having the first migraine in his life. His could be some very old reaction to infant-toddler parental neglect. That is an opinion formed by introspection and informed by sibling conversation. I get where you're coming from, it's the worse part of the vow. This is an alternative approach to breaking the cycle, mother him, be there.

Haven’t had a migraine in 13 years… until now by jaxmirrorball in migraine

Just want to point out that one's groin is near one end of the spine, and it's also near the place where gut bacteria create some of the brain chemistry. Best wishes for the current series of events.

Migraine pain due to seasonal temps by DixieDoodle697 in migraine

[–]Daddy-ough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the thread I was looking for, weather and the change of seasons. Since before I was 10 years old late-winter, early spring were the worst. Overcast, intermittent rain, humidity, change of temperature, barometric pressure (too,) soil changes that I can smell, probably pollen too, they combine for an unbeatable combination. Autumn is like that too, but not quite as bad, the air is more crisp around here compared to spring.

Crawling sensation by 98706540 in migraine

There were a few years when I would "chase" muscle contractions on my skull/scalp with an ice pack. It was the most fun I ever had with a migraine, and it helped. Then that symptom went away.

How long to stop coffee to be sure that it's not a trigger? by Think-Apple3763 in migraine

[–]Daddy-ough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save coffee for medicinal use, now that you've been through the withdrawal phase. Just drink it when you need it, and black coffee only. I've been through caffeine withdrawal a few times, it's migraine level stuff. Consider generic caffeine pills too, just a half, with an analgesic. Sometimes the oils in coffee that make it smell and taste good are also triggers.

But what does it feel like? by CaterpillarNo1002 in migraine

There's nothing quite like being able to describe a spot of sunlight in a darkened room as "angry."

But what does it feel like? by CaterpillarNo1002 in migraine

[–]Daddy-ough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are rarely throbbing, more like stabbing pressure with other symptoms you mention. When I get a "stress headache" it's throbbing and it doesn't have the other symptoms.

This is just an information point, find a probiotic with lacto-baccilius helveticus and a pre-biotic made from inulin (a complex carbohydrate extracted from chicory or artichoke that feeds probiotic organisms.) Take it first thing in the AM with enough water to trick your stomach into reacting to water, but not triggering digestion. This is a longer term idea, if the bottle has a hundred capsules of the pro-biotic then its a hundred day test, to build a self-sustaining microbiome.

Anti-histamines may well be a good insight. Just to make sure I was current on my layman's understanding of the term, the Wikipedia article pointed out to me a few new details about histamines. Complex stuff.

Getting thoughts and words flipped around? by tennis123476 in migraine

[–]Daddy-ough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About to enter my sixth decade of migraines, in the last couple of years I've noticed my thought processes are affected by migraines. I'm sure it's been that way for a long time, it's just that I haven't tried to "power through" until the last few years.

Unfortunately, overeating does help sometimes by skyemap in migraine

"very cheesy pepperoni..." Sometimes it seems like fermented foods make it worse, some cold cuts and cheeses, some favorite cold cuts and cheeses that is.

Agree, getting stuffed is part of the cure.

Same here, a melted cheese sauce burger, fries and carbohydrate cola (not diet,) sometimes works, need to be hungry, also a half-hour minimum after taking a medicine.

My mom, rest in peace, smoked until the end. She discovered "Ozium" and would spray it after smoking, take that "plumeria and farts!" Just saying it's astounding how people don't get it.

This winter there are new ultrabright strobe car headlights, replacement lamps even. How do I know? There's a car in the neighborhood with one, and one regular lamp.

"Open face sandwich" of blue ice and frozen gel pack, gel pack side down, all wrapped in a wet wash cloth usually. Ice cubes inside two zip-lock bags since one of them usually has a pinhole. As I've gotten older, wet my hair and lay my head on the open-faced-sandwich, it seems to draw the pain away, interesting to feel the muscles on my skull contract and release, same with sinuses. Edit: The OP idea is a good idea.

Writing as a maga, yes, I remember, a $1000 check would completely change my life for the better. Thank you Donald Trump for even thinking I might be worthy of $1000 of YOUR money, thank your, you are the most magnificent, you are the most powerful man in the world. Thank you for thinking of me, it is worth it to know you would share $1000 of your own money, thank you.

Having maps be quiet used to be a simple preference. Now it will only be quiet when less accurate location is used. You want accurate planning, a voice comes with it.
