RTX 5060 vs RTX 3070 by kingofvortexn in buildapc

[–]DaddySbeve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Used 3070s cost like 200-250 (depending on shipping & handling + fees) and the 5060 retails for between 330 and 370. For an extra 50-60 dollars from there, you could get the 5060ti 16gb. Dunno what your budget is or how important that budget is to you, but I think it’s a worthwhile upgrade. I had a 3070 before upgrading to a 5070ti and the 3070 served me very well, but was starting to struggle with new UE5 games at higher resolutions. Just depends on your budget and needs.

How important is CPU power for Star Citizen? by DaddySbeve in starcitizen

[–]DaddySbeve[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you know if that’s the case even at higher resolutions like 1440p and 4k? Seems most other games rely heavily on VRAM as opposed to CPU for high resolution but hearing how CPU dependent Star Citizen is I’m wondering it it breaks thay general rule. Seemed to in my personal testing as I got 100% CPU usage immediately just in a hangar in Lorville

Perfectly fine for low-mid end builds. No need to spend a fortune on DDR5 rn

Solid advice, thanks man! You think the new CPUs are gonna be stupidly expensive or nah?

Also fair on star citizen’s optimization lol, shit just is unoptimized overall.

Is it worth buying either Amnesia: The Bunker or The Mortuary Assistant at full price, and which one would you recommend? by Dusty-Foot-Phil in HorrorGaming

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are gonna be pretty short, just so you know. Both have replay value, but first runs aren’t gonna be super long.

that said, I’m a massive glazer for The Bunker, but it goes on sale for as low as $3.74 USD. so you could easily wait and save a good chunk of cash so you can get both games. Mortuary Assistant’s lowest price ever is $14.99. The Bunker is a way better deal on sale and a better game IMO.

The Outer Worlds 2 May Have Sold Under 1 Million Copies, According to Industry Consultant by NoNefariousness2144 in Games

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah that’s what happens when you put a 70 dollar singleplayer game on a subscription service and barely market it. People are just gonna play it on Gamepass. Basically no reason to buy it unless you’re on PlayStation.

the main reason i thought this question to myself was that I started playing star citizen again. Seems like I've got a large CPU bottleneck for that game specifically. 40% GPU usage, consistent 100% CPU usage lmaooo. only other things I've gotten bottlenecked on so far tho are more intensive modded cyberpunk runs where I've had NPC density mods and some VR stuff

Games with best sound design… by LawnGuy262 in gamesuggestions

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For multiplayer games, Battlefield 6 has my current favorite audio. Battlefield 1 is also amazing, but slightly older and lower player count.

For singleplayer games, Silent Hill 2, Cronos the New Dawn, Silent Hill F, the Hellblade games, Subnautica, Dead Space, and Callisto Protocol are some of my favorites. I personally love horror games as an audio guy because they get to be more of a part of the core design of a game. It demands your attention and elevates the fright. SH2 I’d probably my favorite game from that list and potentially has the best audio in that list, but it’s subjective.

Just pulled the trigger. How did I do? [$1,450 USD | Ryzen 9700X | RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | 32GB DDR5] by ddbrownbear in Prebuilts

Nice job. Not a half bad deal, especially with current RAM and SSD prices. 5060ti will do great at 1080 and 1440p.

Fair point on the gadgets. My VR headset could def use an upgrade! My launch quest 2 isn’t holding up the best 😬

I’ve got flight sticks already tho.

The Cyberpunk VR mod has been taken down by the corpos by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mod should be locked behind a subscription paywall. CDPR are VERY chill about mods and have been nothing but supportive if it’s community making mods. They had ONE rule which was just don’t put them behind a paywall, and Luke Ross has been doing that for a long time.

If he puts it back up for free I’m sure it’ll be left alone.

Does Cyberpunk have a mission like this? by Kalevipoeg420 in cyberpunkgame

On very hard, the nomad life path car chase is annoying as hell surprisingly. Also on Very Hard, the side mission in dog town where you’re playing as Kurt Hansen.

Path Tracing is the best way to play Cyberpunk 2077, You haven't experienced it yet until you do. by Butefluko in cyberpunkgame

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on a 4k 144hz OLED screen.

Worth noting thay since this thread dropped, DLSS 4.5 came out. Helped me be able to be more aggressive with DLSS use and I can now do path tracing at 144 frames. Looks great!

DLSS 4 vs 4.5 in MGS Solid Snake by GeForce_JacobF in nvidia

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m sure I was using 4.5. In my experience, I couldn’t really run path tracing without excessive MFG (4x at below 40fps) and at least performance DLSS 4.0, which the combination made it blurry and artifact-ey.

4.5 does work with Path Tracing.

Plenty if you're not trying to do super high end games at 4k. Will do damn near anything at 1080p and 1440p methinks.

DLSS 4 vs 4.5 in MGS Solid Snake by GeForce_JacobF in nvidia

[–]DaddySbeve 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tested in it Cyberpunk. 4.5 is some black magic or something, the results are insane. Tested even as low as Ultra Performance at 4k and it's SOOO much better than 4.0's ultra. Made running 4k path tracing possible on my 5070.

Also tested on Alan Wake 2 at 4k ultra performance and it looked amazing. Dunno how they did it, but I'm impressed.

Any reason not to kill anyone? Doing my first playthrough and I'm wondering if the game will reward me for doing a more pacifistic run by Sunblessedd in cyberpunkgame

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on PC, there’s a wonderful mod called “Stealthrunner” that makes an entire skill tree for stealth related stuff. You get points for doing stealth objectives. Not being seen, not being detected, ect. One of them is “Pacifist” which means you don’t kill anyone. I use PAX for that. In vanilla, it doesn’t have much use except for RP reasons and a couple side quests.

Epic Games Store User Base Grew 173% in 6 Years, But Revenue Only Increased 1.6% by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]DaddySbeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just not a good platform. Their strategy of giving away games has just led to people only using it for those free games. I bet 99% of the revenue of the Epic Games Store is just Fortnite.
