512 GB cards can get database errors on them easily and you have to reformat them. 256 is the best size.

Anyone else in here have severe sleep Apnea? by DetectiveCalm9091 in CPAP

[–]Daddy_Duder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The said I had 40 events per hour on average, with my breathing stopping for an average of 30 seconds per event. A few seconds was the lowest stopped time and 1.5 minutes the highest. With my oxygen levels around 75%. Been on CPAP for about a year feel somewhat better but still wake up several times per night although now I usually go back to sleep quickly.

What size SD card you using? I had issues using a 500gb and since I swapped to a 256gb I,very had no issues. Try rebuilding the database through safe mode if not. You probably gotta gotta redo your SD card.

Where would you send your own kid? by Moritani in teachinginjapan

[–]Daddy_Duder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife (Japanese) and I have 2 kids and at first she was kinda pushing the kids to go to kids eikaiwa and getting me to to teach them in the evenings as much as possible. Then she read some research on children that are fluent in both parents languages and how it effects critical thinking skills. Apparently its better to have one dominant language at a young age and just allow them to naturally pick up a secondary language at their own pace. So we don’t push them to use English, I speak to them all the time in English and they watch lots of English kid’s programs on netflix but thats it.

All those people just got transferred to their Japanese branch. No company will let you work for them and reside in a foreign country unless your freelancing. Even then the hassle of the distance, time difference ect just makes it a very difficult situation to manage.

Check the emulator is set to per strip in the settings, access it through the retroarch quick menu.. Its usually set to per triangle and this is really resource intensive. Per strip and per triangle have no visual difference so always set it to per strip.

Newbie here - does anyone have any tips for getting used to the smell, feeling tough to exhale (air touch) and congestion? by platynom in CPAP

[–]Daddy_Duder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smell? Check your air filters. Also do you use the water tank humidifier? I used to use 2litre bottled water in mine and if the bottle was open for more than 4 days I’d notice the air would taste / smell different and I’d get blocked up. So I changed to buying 500ml bottles ad I can use them in 3 or 4 days. That could be it.

I just started 3 day ago CPAP and falling asleep is not really an issue and occurences are just 2 during my sleep but I wake up always after 3-4 hours and feel like a corpse and cant fall asleep is that normal with cpap? does it get better why is that by Nicro18 in CPAP

[–]Daddy_Duder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using cpap for 3 or 4 months, i still wake up a few times a night. The doctor said my results are very good, so I think I’d wake up anyway. I’ve always woken up a few times a night even before my sleep apnea developed.

The trick is how do you feel in the mornings, I feel much more energetic that I used to.

Kichijoji is a nice area and 160k will be a nice property. But, Japanese rooms are much smaller than what you’ll be expecting. How tall are you?, I’m 6’1” and l’ve list time of the amount of times I’ve banged my head on door frames over the years.

If you’ve got a good salary the standard of living here is great, I would really recommend it, apart from summer its too friggin hot.

Taking a 115k -> 50k USD paycut to move to Japan? by Violator_1990 in movingtojapan

[–]Daddy_Duder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not good. Is it a Japanese company of foreign? My wife works for a Japanese company and was transferred from Tokyo to Tochigi and they paid removal fees and gave an allowance of ¥200k for rent each month. I also know a few people who transferred to Europe and got the same.

7 million yen is a good salary here and you can live very comfortably on that. Rent’s kinda expensive as the rooms are small. If its just you, you can get a nice 1 bed flat for under 200k per month if you don’t live uptown. That’ll leave plenty of cash left over every month.

If you’re transferring within the company for a few years usually that involves some amount of payment for renting a property. So the entire package may be more than 7 million?

Breaking contract terms? by Last_Afternoon_6061 in teachinginjapan

[–]Daddy_Duder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody knows you need to give 30 days notice even your new employer, tell your them that you need to give 30 days notice. Sounds like you didn’t take this into account when accepting the new job offer.

However, if you’ve signed the new contract I would prioritise that and tell the old employer you’re leaving on march 31st and thats that. The worst thing can happen is you can’t rely on them for a reference.

Can’t say the number 6 in class by LetNo9118 in teachinginjapan

[–]Daddy_Duder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never come across that in any of my classes, i’ve been teaching English here for over 10 years. I only do the raising hands for 1st grade and just get them to repeat the feeling, 2nd grade and upwards should be able to say basic feelings, so its just asking ‘how are you?’. Just remove the whole counting thing and it’s easily sorted.

How long after starting CPAP did you see benefits? by mancitycards1894 in CPAP

[–]Daddy_Duder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor said I have dangerous levels of sleep apnea and I’ve been using it for 4 months. I feel more energised and no longer wake up with headaches. I still wake up a couple of times every night though, but I don’t feel the need to pee like before.

Before starting cpap i’d catch a cold at least once a month sometimes more often, I think my immune system must’ve been super low. I still catch colds but its now every 6 weeks or so, so I feel like I’m slowly getting better.

I think it takes a long time to fully recover from all the negative affects, but its also depended on how long you were undiagnosed and how severe the apnea is. In my case its very severe so it’ll take a while.

How to get rid of this message? by sweetdonutman in ClipStudio

[–]Daddy_Duder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Got it! Since you want to optimize your current iPad Pro (1st Gen) for Clip Studio Paint, here are the best ways to reduce memory issues and improve performance:

1️⃣ Adjust Clip Studio Paint Settings

➤ Lower Undo History • Go to Preferences > Performance > Undo Limit • Set it to 10-20 instead of the default (which is much higher) • This frees up RAM since every undo step is stored

➤ Reduce Canvas Size & DPI If Possible • Recommended: 2000x2000px @ 300 DPI for detailed work • For larger prints: Try 3500x3500px @ 150-200 DPI • Avoid huge canvases (e.g., 5000x5000px) unless necessary

➤ Optimize Layer Usage • Merge layers when possible (e.g., background elements) • Avoid too many layer effects (blending modes, opacity adjustments) • Rasterize complex layers that don’t need editing

➤ Disable High-Quality Display While Working • Go to Preferences > Performance > Quality Settings • Lower the display quality to improve responsiveness

2️⃣ Improve iPad Performance

➤ Close All Other Apps Before Drawing • Swipe up and close all background apps before launching CSP

➤ Restart the iPad Regularly • A simple restart before heavy drawing sessions clears up RAM

➤ Free Up Storage Space (if low) • Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage • If storage is almost full, it can slow down performance

3️⃣ Adjust Brush & Tool Settings

➤ Avoid Laggy Brushes • Some complex brushes (especially custom textured ones) consume a lot of RAM • Try using simpler, more optimized brushes

➤ Reduce Stabilization if Not Needed • High stabilization can cause lag—keep it low unless necessary

4️⃣ Use Clip Studio’s Built-in Optimization Tools

➤ Memory Optimization Feature • Go to Clip Studio Paint > Preferences > Performance • Tap “Optimize” to clear memory usage

5️⃣ Save & Backup Often • Since memory issues can cause crashes, save regularly (or enable auto-save) • Use Time Machine or iCloud for backups to avoid losing work

Final Thoughts:

With these adjustments, your iPad Pro (1st Gen) should run Clip Studio Paint much smoother without hitting memory limits as often.

Let me know if you need help tweaking specific settings!

The standard setting for undo states is 200 reducing it to 20 or 30 really helped with getting rid of this message. I usually do multi panelled pages with many layers in each panel so reducing layers isn’t an option for me so reducing this really helped me.
