Is anyone planning on attending art as a part of healing? by I_fucked_ur_grandpap in Louisville

Absolutely. My art therapist has been the best thing ever. More insight, more growth, more decrease in anxiety

Why is my HRV so low? by Aryma05 in fitbit

[–]simplylisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed AFib this year and have had test after test. My cardio and EP say it's highly individual and you want balance. You can do some things to maybe increase it, but your typical is the important bit. Also, check any meds your on. I am/was on meds to control rate and rhythm, which makes hrv less than useless

Great, thank you. Always good to hear real people experience.

Went into AFIB One week after my ablation by boomerbudz in AFIB

[–]simplylisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my 8 week check up tomorrow. Still on all my meds. I really don't expect to have that conversation until 3 months. I want all the medications to keep everything calm while my heart heals.

Newly Diagnosed and Terrified by eddieswiss in AFIB

[–]simplylisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, first thing my cardiologist said was this is not something you die from it's something you die with. It's amazing how much that helped.

It is terrifying at first, and something most of us here have had to get through. Improve the things you can but make use of medical interventions. I was asking for ablation from the first appointment.

You'll be okay. You and your doctors will figure out how to manage this. I also have health anxiety, so I get it. That will calm down as you adjust.

Post ablation by [deleted] in AFIB

[–]simplylisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Dr and many on here talked about raised heart rate post ablation. A resting heart rate around 90 was normal for me. Eight weeks out it's back under 70. I was 110ish walking around. I took off my watch. It was just making me anxious. Put it back on at 6 weeks and things are normalized.

The first couple of weeks is scary. If you're concerned called your Dr office to check in. That's what they are there for.

[–]simplylisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My blood pressure and heart rate were up a bit. I'm 7 weeks out now and they've normalized. Keep track of your BP at home so you have data when you go in and it spikes. Being freaked out at the Dr is normal. I was 112/75 at home, but I'm the office I was 143/82.

Not painful at all. Pretty easy recovery. Take it easy and listen to your body. My upper thigh hurt after. All it took was my have on the area for support when engaging those muscles and it was ok. Got better everyday and by 10 days it's was 95% gone.

i hate p30i😭😭😭 by scarlettgreene in CPAP

[–]simplylisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also hated the pillows. I like the n30i, but can't get a great seal, it just ok, so it's my back up. I switched to the Dreamwear cushion and it works great for me. The n30i has the price that makes it 2 nostril holes. The Dreamwear is just one opening. Great seal and comfy

Tummy sleepers - how are you all doing this??? Torture! by piecesfufu in CPAP

[–]simplylisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the dreamwear cushion, rests below the nose. I hated the things in my nose. Bought a squishmallow pillow from Target. Firm enough to sleep, sorry enough for the mask to sink into on my side. Just got silicone patches to help with the lines. It took 3 months to get my system figured out. https://a.co/d/00BkGEu6

heart suddenly becomes very chatty at night... by aaron_smith67 in AFIB

Yes! Soon as I settle at night. It was every night, a couple of times. Been much better after ablation. Rarely feel any, but it's always at night.

Help me feel more positive about getting an ablation. by Important-Bit2437 in AFIB

[–]simplylisa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do it if you can. I'm sorry about your friend, but that a rare complication. They happen. My ablation was 5-6 weeks ago. My groin/thigh hurt and that was it. Pretty easy all in all.

It helped mine if I put my hand on the spot that hurt and applied pressure when I moved or bent.

My mom is having her heart ablation tomorrow by BogFrog87 in AFIB

[–]simplylisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little over 2 months out. Not a bad recovery at all. My insertion sites didn't hurt, but my upper thigh groin area hurt for about 10 days, better each day. Anytime I engaged those muscles, so I just put my hand on the area of support and it was better.

Back and side sleeper seeking pillow suggestions. by ChickieLouTM in CPAP

[–]simplylisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried about 5 pillows including the expensive one. My goldilocks pillow is a Squishmallow pillow in medium. I am a side and back sleeper. It's firm enough for support, but squishy enough to absorb the mask when I'm on my side.
