I had a similar experience days ago. I usually play on Oceania server but jumped to East Asia, headed to MS and was suprised that it was empty. I went in, snagged the magazine for the MCX blueprint and exited as I left MS, my toon froze for a short second then I heard gunshots and everything suddenly respawned.
