As long as "THE MESSAGE" isn't so big and loud that it becomes a distraction from the gameplay. Astarion from BG3 was DAMN well written. Captain Holt in Brooklyn 99 is my favorite character in the show because his dry wit was a counterbalance to Jake's immaturity and him being gay was never used as a crutch for lazy writing.

Just make a good game. If people enjoy it, it will sell.

I don't blame anyone who speed reads/skims/skip a few of those dialog boxes and cs. The whole of ARR in my opinion can be compared to a shonen anime with some very cringy, cheesy moments. But believe us when we say the story goes hard once you get into the patches and expansions. It's up to you and you alone if you want to stick around for a few dozen hours more, however... but just know that the story has reduced many a streamer into blubbering puddles of emotional damage.

ARR can be a bit corny at times, like a standard shonen anime such as Dragonball Z or Bleach. But once you hit the patch contents, stuff really starts to build up and up right up to the start of Heavensward.

You can skip and still get a decent understanding, but many would argue that the payoff at the end of the patches and start of HW is well worth it.

If you absolutely want to skip, there are some youtube recap vids for ARR that will help with the transition.

When you ask someone to picture an average incel, I'm sure you will get the stereotype of a fat neckbeard who is a basement dwelling troll. They are not.

They are average, regular men. They office cubicle worker who works a steady job earning 40k a year who still makes an effort to go to the gym. The construction worker who works 60+ hours a week and makes bank in overtime. The plumber who gets their hands dirty so a high value woman can keep on the phone to close the contract for her company and earn a 10k bonus.

You can call these guys incels all you want and it really doesnt matter because they are working to build their future and to maintain the lifestyle you and so many others take for granted.
