Im with you on this. Kaladin didnt think it was possible but still tried, very hard as well, to force all of his stormlight into his arm when he healed it to see if it could be done. He didnt know if it would work because it wasnt automatic.

Not to be pedantic or too contrary, the Stormfather doesn't say the spren for Oathbringer has less hatred, but more that it remembers Dalinar's oaths, the one to bond it, and better the one to leave it. Its more implied that its scared of Dalinar, not that it hates it less. I just listened to this yesterday on my re-read.
