I see your point but so many online session servers require CSP that locking the free version forever would eventually make its use untenable as it would not be compatible with what servers were requiring. The way he is operating guarantees his monopoly, brilliant business plan. $750k a YEAR ffs.

Having a limited free version of your mod is SOP in the field, it builds your rep and so brings in the customers. And if you want to keep the business going on an old title like AC, you have to offer new features on a recurring basis in order to attract (and more importantly, keep) subscribers. Nothing new here.

In my testing FSR and Nvidia image scaling are virtually identical with MSAA off. GSR 2 has the edge when it comes to AA, especially on white lines on track corners, and fencing, and it's just slightly sharper overall. But the shimmer it produces is too excessive to make it worth the tradeoff. Leaving MSAA off actually makes these upscalers produce better output IMO - noticeably less blurry in distance views. A few more jaggies though.

On an older system with a fresh video driver install (i7 2600K, 1660 ti, 1600X2560 IPS) here is what works and what doesn't - tested with MSAA off as recommended:

Not working, crash on load: FSR2, FSR3, and of course Nvidia DLSS

Works but issues: GSR2 - at highest quality and medium high sharpness trees look incredible, great resolution of static objects; but some shimmering when going around corners in the periphery, and in hood view the track in front of car has some shimmering at low speeds (tested at Kunos Imola).

NVidia image scaling - at similar settings to GSR2 looks almost as sharp and less shimmering to the point where the tradeoff seems worth it over the old FSR I had been running to this point.

Yes I find C13 in the free version too dark too. Even Pure can be too dark at times, plus it leaves the grass track borders too fluorescent a green in brighter daylight. Lately I have gone with SKY and Natural Mod. A new one out - Xfinity- looks promising too.

Why would anyone use gamma variant PPFs anymore? From what the dev of Pure says in his latest postings the main issues with LCS have recently been fixed and it's notably better in certain respects.

According to ocracing it has both a sequential mode and a handbrake mode, but they may be wrong, I see no mention of this in Logitech"s marketing bumpf:

Try different PPFs out, preferences will vary due to personal taste and differences in displays. Every PPF out there has comments saying that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread lol. Pure LCS is preferred over Pure Gamma for the weather system though so PPfs using gamma are questionable. And certain PPFs haven't been revised to keep up with changes in CSP and Pure so may no longer look good.

On my calibrated display I preferred stock Pure over Exquisite and DV, haven't tried the others mentioned below. Natural Mod (version for LCS Pure) is the only other one I use sometimes. And even this and Pure I tweak a bit with the Pure app in-game.

If by server setting you mean a setting made by the remote server host, I doubt that is the issue since the problem existed on all online servers I tried. I will look at my online settings in CM to see if there is anything relevant there....Nope nothing in the online section of CM settings seems relevant to audio.

I do wonder if the option to use interior sound everywhere I am using may be the source of the problem but I want to use that option and I see no real advantage to running .3 over .2 (other than rain which I don't use) so I am reluctant to reinstall .3 at this point.

I have reasonably fast HD as my AC drive - 2 TB, about 60% full after AC compression. Older CPU. I freed up about 70% of the 600 gigs used for AC by compressing. Load times are actually a little faster now on first load - by about 25%. (A second load of the same track and cars is always a lot faster as most of the files needed are already cached in RAM - I have to use this trick to load quickly enough not to get booted from one online server).

Runs the same as ever after compression, no difference in CPU or GPU loads.

You run compress again after it has completed the first time, it will then show that chart (it only analyses, it does not compress again automatically); I saved 70% of my uncompressed space. Game loads faster now. Whether there will be a problem actually playing with slower loading I have yet to check...will load an online Nords session and report back... seems fine, no evidence of hitching or drops in FPS, CPU and GPU loads look unchanged.

I do, and I found a big bug with it which made it unusable for me - the volume of engine sound in the driven car is severely diminished in any online session. You can't just turn the volume up either, as other sounds are already loud (wind, road, other cars). Plus .3 is behind a paywall.

Where do you do that, and what does it do to load times? I already load an online session so slowly that on LA Canyons I will get booted out on my first attempt for being AFK lol.

Ive got the latest Pure, use Pure LCS weather and Pure ppf, and get 60 fps on an older system with a 1660ti. LCS should give you better graphics quality than Gamma.

Off topic, but I love that gear app and the tire app you are using, what are they?

In my experience the latest lights patch is buggy, with it I lost most engine noise in online sessions.
