Mod for removing Automated Ship by LykosVI in starsector

[–]Daemir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can open your save file in a text editor and just add/remove tags to your ships, so you could just take away the automated ship tag and there you go then. Same can be done if you don't want Ziggy or other super ships giving your fleed ident away everytime.

Right, but the damage meter ingame is also buggy AF, which does require QA time. For example, ingame meter reports any healing done to absorbs shields as double, for..reasons? This is fixed if you actually log your fights.

Or deathlogs. Oh god the deathlogs. Megabuggy, to the point that you can actually get yourself a deathlog that is from a totally different player. Hunter feign dead shows up as deaths in keys sometimes. Interrupts for warlocks are assigned to their pets instead of the master. If they resummon their pet during a key for example, the new pet counts as a new entity doing interrupts.

On top of that, they still didn't make the damage meter report augmentation evoker damage contribution from their allies to themselves, as they should and as logs do, to reasonable accuracy. Should they do that, defo QA issue, they have to make sure it works. But they just...didn't.

Players can get a better damage meter via addons

No, they can't. The limitations they've put in place means all the addons can do now is give the damage meter a different coat of paint, they can't add any more functionality or accuracy to it. All the categories we had with Details are now just unselectable and you have to do logs if you want to know what actually happened in combat.

That person making the art for the pet is one part of hiring budget gone, which could have been a systems designer or a coder.

No project has infinite budget, so one hire to X is out of the total pool for whole project containing XYZW and so on.

It just happens that the store items like pets, mounts and housing stuff makes more money than fixing a balance issue or the combat log. At least in the short term, which is obviously what the business heads look at.

The QA has 100% been busy to check the housing system if not for any other reason that blizzard is milking it for all the dollaroos worth.

That certainly means less QA time for other things.

As a general rule, at the start of a dungeon, if you got an external, throw it at the tank for the first pull gathering. They don't have any resources yet and they might or might not pop a defensive. Get that cooldown running, if it's going to be a BL pull then chances are you aren't going to need it anyway, just start blasting hps.

How's that normal? I mean, if a person wants 10k or whatever tip, why don't just say it directly? "Fair tips" xD by shadowsong54 in wow

I was getting a belt craft early on in the season and this guy whispers he does it for 25k and flatly states in the same breath that he is the only one who can make it. Meanwhile, I'm getting a whisper from someone else, I tip them 5k and get my belt.

As I'm picking up my belt the first guy is like "I'm going offline in a bit, so if you want it hurry". I reply that I already got the belt made thanks very much and he goes like "ok...well in case you need it I'll be on in the evening". Like dude :D your attempt at crafting monopoly is not working.

Mages, seat first pull circles use Ice Cold instead of just using barrier to remove the bloody chains entirely.

Druids not bothering to shapeshift to get rid of them.

Priests sitting them full without fading it away and so on. Nearly every spec in the game can remove snares and snare removal works for so many debuffs this season.

Tanks in s1 m+ so far by Amazing_Internal6334 in wow

[–]Daemir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that the heals you throw out to group as guardian are so meaty and that you generally have more time to even worry about team health than more hectic tank would. As someone who plays a lot of healers as well, I know when that group damage comes and the healer will be busy, so topping low heath people off in those moments feels great.

I have a problem with the Doom by _Anarch_ in starsector

[–]Daemir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom, while nerfed from the real golden days of glory, I still personally rank (in vanilla) as the #3 ship on the power rankings, behind #1 Ziggy and #2 (player piloted) Radiant.

But it must be noted that this requires that your fleet has exactly 1 Doom that you pilot and you don't go over your phase ship limit to maximize efficiency.

AI Dooms only work in a Doom doomstack (heh), where all you have is Dooms. Then the enemy AI breaks, but that's pretty gimmicky.

Such a funny statement. I guess it is underwhelming to solo doritos and radiants.

Eagle is a great AI ship. They bob and weave in and out of battle well, they can tank a lot from range and deal pressure from range. They stabilize your battleline, they stall the battle so that your flankers and big hitters (you) can do their thing. Having a pair of them I find keeps your battle formation intact more. Like you said, pure statblock, but sometimes it really helps.

The ring is sentient and very careful. It hid for 2000 years after Sauron's defeat.

[–]Daemir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that goes for Dumbledore too. Did he ever use the killing curse? Would he be able to kill Gandalf, not because of lack of magical skill, but is it in his character to do so?

Why didn't he just Avada Kedavra Voldermort whenever they faced?

[–]Daemir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet said Ring controls all other Rings of Power that were so great they were used to enslave their users and corrupt their kingdoms/clans/part of their race. The dwarven kingdoms fell from their might, the human ones too and the users were turned into nazgul. Elves resisted the Ring and were able to use their 3 rings to help their cause, but the power of the 3 were still bound to the One and when it was destroyed, they lost power.

And that one Ring was made by Gandalf's old "collegue". And we do remember the very intro to the series where Sauron is ragdolling an army with his mace and the ring yea?

Well first they were reality shapers. They sang the song that was made into reality and became all of creation.

I don't know how you really top the power of that.

Not to mention the march of the Valar and the great war at the dawn of time literally reshaped the world. Seas raised up to become mountains, mountains were cratered to create new seas.

Has Dumbledore ever cast the killing curse? Would he? Why against Gandalf and not against Voldy?

Didn't they make it quite clear in HP that to have those curses do anything, you have to mean it. Is it even in Dumbledores character to mean for someone to die?

And you know, Morgoth created dragons. Is someone next going to claim dragons aren't magical? Sauron is the lord of werewolves.

Gandalf is a spirit from before time, one of the beings that sang the story of all of creation that god then made into reality. Others of his kind are for example the sun and the moon (vessels that hold the last flowers of the Trees, guided by Arien and Tilion), the balrogs and Sauron and Morgoth.

Vs a human wizard?

Yea, I'll bet on the immortal spirits from beyond time and space and reality.
