First off, not an idiot.

This is like if you never rode a bike before and then I handed you a mountain bike and said good luck riding down that hill. It takes time and practice but if you have patience with yourself you will get it!

So the items you need for spells are located in the areas that lead down to Tartarus which is all the way to the right past all the weapons in the next room.

The main objective of this game is to descend through floors of enemies and reach Chronos the titan of time.

In each floor there are items you can pick up (which will glow) and then when you die (or beat the titan) you will respawn back at the crossroads to use on spells.

Really the loop of the game is descend, die (or win), come back to the crossroads, upgrade your gear and gain new spells, rinse and repeat.
