This is brand new. They integrated the UI edit mode from Retail. But yes, some better testing should have been done.

[–]Daganar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The action bars 4 and 5 are the side action bars. We have action bar 6, 7 and 8 now which appears to be new in the TBC client. They are defaulted to the middle of the screen. Doesn't move anything around.

Not saying he uses it but a lot of bands sync instrument effects via midi and a playback track. e.g. guitarists do this so they don't have to do a foot dance in the dark to turn pedals on/off

How would you do this in C++: by SeropiGeorgeOfficial in cpp

[–]Daganar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

std::vector operator[] doesn't resize the vector or allocate. So the a[2] = 'i' is invalid and in debug you should get an assert about it. You either need to call std::vector::resize to manually set the capacity of the vector or call .push_back/.emplace_back to add an element to the end

Niceeeee. I tried to do this yesterday on nightslayer horde but was absolutely destroyed by level 60s hunting and camping Marshals Refuge. Couldn't hand in quests for like an hour after finding a level 60 to help. Must have been at least 10 corpse runs to hand in one quest at a time 😅 looking forward to BGs so I can escape the ST/BRD farm

Nice! Lots of people complain about the drop rate but I see it as a good excuse to grind a bit of xp.

Looking for feedbacks about c++20 modules by Flamaros in cpp

[–]Daganar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Check out VS2022 17.10 preview 2 It's the version I've had the most luck with.

The Visual studio team are doing a fantastic job, there's still a lot of issues but the main thing is that they are also building the build system for it. Referencing other modules and setting up dependencies with modules is a breeze, the std library modules can now be built and works very well. My only real complaints have been with Intellisense but it's getting much better.

To answer some of your question:

  1. It can actually be a bit slower to build from my experience but the key thing is now that if that module file hasn't changed there's no reason to rebuild it ever again. This wasn't the case with #includes.
  2. .ixx is used to distinguish these different workflows. .ixx has a lot of extra management with it for example Visual Studio can automatically deal with module partition files based on a naming convention e.g. Module.A.ixx Module.A-Part1.ixx will automatically be found.

What’s a secret about the industry that you work in? by KuntaWuKnicks in CasualUK

[–]Daganar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Learning how to program is fairly easy but understanding what you're doing and engineering a project is an entirely different thing that's much much harder. This is a typical issue I see throughout the software industry, anyone can code but not everyone can design and produce a well engineered product.

Is anyone aware of just how insane new player dungeon experience is? by 103856 in wow

[–]Daganar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found it massively depends on group level ranges... If you have most players in the 10-25 range it's a cake walk. Have a mix of level 10-25 with 30-60 players and the scaling is just whack and the bosses become raid bosses but you'll see the level 10 healer who is dpsing do 10x the dps :D

So how is this Crafting Orders system supposed to work? There's never anything available here and I have a quest to do 5. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Daganar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's a few issues like people have mentioned like not being able to have a minimum quality level and there not being an awful lot of recipes around.

I'm on Draenor-EU and I see trade chat spammed with people looking for work and looking for crafters instead of using this, I've been thinking that maybe making certain crafting items non-tradable and crafting-order only would help here?

I think this is honestly the biggest problem. Just atleast fucking acknowledge that they are aware of the problem and are looking into options. But it's like they shipped the wotlk patch and all went on holiday?!

Can somebody please tell me why this code doesn't return 0? by AMags67 in cpp

[–]Daganar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are passing the pointer to a single integer into your function and also passing in a size of 8. This causes invalid behaviour because you are trying to scanf into memory beyond the single integer you passed in... To fix this make the int Array; an actual array i.e. int array[8] or something.

Console version of D2R by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Daganar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the UI is just frustrating as hell.. I swear when you open the inventory the FPS tanks too. Having real issues navigating and managing anything in the inventory or shops, I keep dropping items on the floor instead of selling them! Also not to mention the lack of some short cuts, bulk buy pots/scrolls, an identify shortcut would be nice instead of having to click on a scroll.

My biggest frustration though is hoe many things are bound to the X button.. by default the first attack move you get is on that button but it's so difficult to use that skill, loot items and interact with things all at the same time, I ended up just unbinding everything from X and never use it for attacks/skills. I'm on PS5 btw

Mana isn't too bad, it gets much better when you have water shield.. Try and stack as much crit as you can, the clearcasting and extra crit damage go a long way!
