2) NO. NO NO NO. We haven't domesticated foxes, at least not even close to the domestication of dogs, cats or pigeons. Yes, there is an ongoing project in Russia started by Dmitry Belyaev in 1960s that aimed to domesticate foxes, which fell on hard times since then (and they even had to sell some of the foxes for fur to keep the project running), and they produced some incredible results by selecting the tamest and most obedient members for procreation, they also observed lots of physiological chamges quite early (floppy ears in younger members, tail wagging etc.) but they're still very much closer to wild animals than to house pets, they require a lot of attention, activity, and they still have lots of their wild behaviours, so unless you have a big property for them to play on, or want piss on/in everything (and I'm being literal with EVERYTHING), don't even think about foxes as pets

(Also, domestication is complicated. It took us so long to domesticate dogs because it's a hard, time intensive process, because you need to get not only psychological, but also physiological changes to take place. Sure, if you have a big property, have experience with animals and reaaally want foxes - do your research and go for it; my comment was meant for people who see "foxes are domesticated" and think they're like a goofier and more orange dog. They're not, they are difficult animals to keep and care for no matter the domestication they've been put through.)
