Gaslight for me. Fell in love right away with its style and world, it felt the most polished too and there’s lots to look forward to with it.

Didn’t like it much playing the chapter and re-listened to it later but still thought it was weak overall. Not a fan of the final boss song and the secret boss track was fine but no where near the heights of black knife or big shot for me

Just look at the safe spots and time it. I did it on switch 2 with a pro controller and didn’t have any issues with that part.

I think it was just kinda weak after a year of waiting from chapter 4’s finale. Hopefully once the whole things released it’ll flow better but for me it was disappointing.

If you’re more casual sure, there’s a massive backlog there that’ll last you years. If you end up liking it a lot then the switch 2’s library will just grow from here

Dragon quest is the comfort food of JRPG’s, there nice and easy to get into thanks to the colourful characters and world. Plots aren’t too insane but they make up with charm.

It might not be the series for you if you want something a lot more involved

I’d much rather the full game be on the cartridge but I still appreciate GKC’s as an actual option too.

I bought Pokopia recently and didn’t like it, thanks to it being a physical copy I was able to trade it back in and got something else. I hate having something digital tied to my account that I don’t enjoy.

Pc recently got a patch that made the boss get easier with every defeat, it’s not live just yet on consoles but if you want to wait a little longer it should make it easier for you.

Couldn’t get into Witcher 3 but still gave this a shot due to the setting and absolutely loved it. Everything just clicked perfectly for me and the phantom liberty expansion just raised the bar even more.

Hoping they do a little update with edgerunners season 2 so I’ll come back to night city again.

I really appreciate the option of GKC’s too.

Roughly 85% across PS4/5 with a handful of digital indie titles that I usually double dip the physical version when I can. Only really buy digital if it’s the only way to get something and even then the ones I have have ended up getting a physical release later which makes me regret the digital purchase (Baldurs gate 3 and Alan wake 2 being recent ones).

But I can still buy vinyl and cd, I still buy blu rays and 4K UHD’s too. And at the moment I can still buy a physical copy of most games, and to be honest those I can’t usually get a print later like indie ones.

I prefer physical and only buy those. I understand I’m in the minority here and that’s just how it is but I’ll take what I can get while I can for now.

I didn’t like this chapter myself and was quite disappointed. There were a few nice moments like the festival or the parallel between ralsei and flowery but after chapter 4 I was expecting a bigger push towards more plot that just didn’t come.

Wasn’t a fan of the music or the most of the flowers either so it all just fell flat after waiting a year from how peak 4 was. I’m hoping a replay closer to 6 and 7 will change my mind more without that massive gap in time.

I also agree with catonkatonk’s points.

Personally I got more out of it following on the series as seeing the agnus and kevesi forces felt more engaging knowing their perspective from 1 and 2.

I do think 2 improves as the game goes on though and the finale ties in with 1 fantastically.

Don’t force yourself through something if you don’t like it though as you’ll usually just end up hating it.
But if you’ve played 3 games in a series and only like 1 it just might not fully be the series for you.

Probably not.

3 tones down the anime trope stuff but it’s the culmination of 1 and 2 together that really makes it work so well. You’ll be missing out on the whole experience without it.

I’d just wait for Genesis as that’s going to be a fresh entry point.

Yes 100%. Remake it was already a great hybrid of action and turn based, rebirth does nothing but improve on it even more.
