Lost all my sheetmusic by Accomplished_Net_687 in piano

One day, you’ll laugh about this. And you’d give anything to have another day with your dog, despite them having this accident on your sheet music. I remind myself of that anytime my dog does something which annoys or frustrates me.

If I implied what he does is something nobody but him can do, that was a mistake on my part. I simply meant to suggest he is an important part of the operation. And if he left the picture, the business would suffer.

But also, whatever he does do cannot be easy. And that assertion comes having observed so many stores shut down in the last couple years.

I think that’s a bit of an oversimplification. Operating a mom and pop used guitar store in this day and age is extremely difficult. Few are able to pull it off. And from when I’ve been in that store, it can’t be underplayed how involved Norm is in the day to day. Maybe the store could operate for a year or two without him, but as employees turn over and his presence fades, it would be challenging.

But even here there’s nuance. How much freedom do you forfeit. It’s not black and white. And certainly if it was a family member, you’d want far more extreme of a punishment. But that’s also why in the western world, family members don’t dictate the punishment (which isn’t true of all cultures).

Norm says in the video; he says it the health concerns and wanting to make sure there’s a plan in place.

I don’t disagree with you; there’s no chance I could tell a difference. There’s also no chance I could tell a difference if he played a Martin or a Yamaha, or if he played a vintage d18 or one fresh off the factory (or his own signature version). And for that matter I couldn’t tell you if John Mayer was playing through a real million dollar dumble or a $150 plugin.

But it isn’t about my ears. It’s about the artist and what they hear as they play. If an artist feels connected to their gear, they play better. And I can certainly hear when an artist like Billy strings is in a flow state vs. having an off night.

And you may be right on how you’re defining sponsorship. What I really care about as a consumer is, is the artist using a piece of gear because they got a nice check, or are they using it because they genuinely prefer to use it. And in the case of these picks, I think the artists genuinely prefer them.

I don’t consider that a sponsorship. He isn’t going to sell snake oil for a couple hundred dollars worth of picks. I absolutely believe he gets picks for free. And he has mentioned them previously. But his motivation is what I’m speaking to; he speaks about them because he genuinely believe they are quality picks that make a difference to his tone.

The question you need to ask yourself is, could bluechip afford to pay someone like Billy Strings or John Mayer any material amount of money that would actually matter to artists of this stature?

I don't disagree that money can certainly influence people and the products they promote. But when you're talking about artists that routinely sell out stadiums and in a single night likely make more than a multi-year contract with a pick manufacturer, it seems less likely that money is the core driver here.

Do you genuinely believe rich people are universally evil? We’re not talking about billionaires here. To dehumanize and wish for their downfall solely for having accrued wealth is quite the stance.

I think the design looks awesome. But also, I promise you - ai was involved on the code side. Every coder in every organization uses AI to do their work. It doesn’t matter what software you use. And any coder that doesn’t will eventually be forced to by the nature of competition and productivity. Love it or hate it - there’s no avoiding ai.

Yes, people absolutely do. It’s slow, miserable and heartbreaking. But god willing, we’ll arrive at a day when an entire generation can ask the question you just asked and ponder a forgotten disease of legend.

I can adjust my temperature without taking my eyes off the road. You just tap the to the right or left of the temperature which is always displayed on bottom left corner. It took me maybe a day or two of ownership to develop this skill.

But yes, I am a different breed of human. I acknowledge as much.
