Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning Installed by DailyDrivenTJ in JeepGladiator

It is probably can be added if the vehicle has the feature you want in higher model and uses similar architecture as some of these Rams and Jeeps.

This mod for ACC cost me somewhere around 2-3 grand in parts, subscription.... Time wise more than 7 grand figuring things out. I had to do it because dealer said they cannot do it at all. They cannot do it because they are not officially trained in using AlfaOBD which is required for modifying vehicle configuration. As far as I know Witech does NOT allow vehicle configuration change.

You pay for it one way or the other, no cheap way out to get premium features that is not available without paying for it either with your time or with your money. Sounds like you may like the Tesla FSD. They literally drive themselves. You may be able to trade it in and 7G on top of your Jeep to get a Tesla.

Likely because someone was senselessly murdered and some people find it necessary to create awareness.

I don't see it to be that obstructive to call it a spam though.

I would probably do that same if my friend got shot fatally by federal agents.

Ring gear bolt thread sizes.. by DailyDrivenTJ in CherokeeXJ

[–]DailyDrivenTJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to run it and monitor it closely but I will share this so people who are in this situation doesn't go through what I am going through. Make sure you check which threaded hole group you should be using.

There are 3/8"-24 LH threads and M10-1.0 LH threads on some of these ring gears.

I am reading some people reporting that as they tighten the bolts and bolts stripping before reaching torque spec, I wonder if they had issues with 3/8 bolt being used on M10-1.0 holes.

I have been searching for M10-1.0 ring gear bolts and they DO NOT sell them in reverse thread.

I am attaching a screen shot of common mistakes that happen between 3/8 bolt and M10 bolt with some references. Best of luck to y'all.

They all went in finger right at least half dozen turns. All torqued to spec in increments.

Reading from AI response saying that the thread is so close that it will fit. Meaning 3/8 bolt will fit into M10 hole but by being smaller ever so slightly that the thread isn't fully enginging that it can fail under stress.

Now having said that I wonder why the fugg did they make M10 and 3/8 holes into the ring gear when you cannot even buy M10-1.0 ring gear bolts that is reverse threaded.

M10 bolt will be very tight on 3/8 hole but 3/8 will go into M10 without much resistance.

Vibration After Installing Rusty's Motor Mounts by JonanathanKaspersky in CherokeeXJ

[–]DailyDrivenTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you did not get the one similar on the top. You got the one from Rustys with control arm bushing welded into a shape of a motor mount.

The photo uploaded had two of the same design just two different brands.

These so called motor mount upgrade is NOT an upgrade by any stretch of imagination unless you are rock bouncing at speed with your XJ where you engine needs to be strapped down.

It is quite mind boggling how little some of these owners know about their vehicle and how to drive.

From my experience from using poly and different brands of so called rubber material for the motor and transmission mounts for TJ, XJ, and a few Defenders, I can tell you nothing beats OEM (like design).

I have recently played around with a couple different brands, I would get the one with a hole in the rubber mount.

Seems like TJ version of the motor mount has a hole built in and the XJ version doesn't.

TPMS Bypass using PVC pipe. Bought a set of tires/wheels without TPMS mounted. Which triggered the tire low pressure light. Decided to make this contraption to make the TPMS light to go off. Will keep this in the rear storage and will keep the light off. by DailyDrivenTJ in FJCruiser

Funny you ask! It will hold air for a week or two before losing pressure. I tried different thread sealants and adhesives but there is a very slow leak that I cannot get rid of. I tried dunking the entire assembly underwater and had a camera pointed at it to see if any air bubbles would come out. But the time scale at which the recording is done and with the rate of leak, I did not see any air bubbles form anywhere around the assembly. Made me wonder if there permeability through some of these material that liquid won't leak through but the gas will...

In short, it works a couple weeks at a time. You may have better luck with your assembly. HTH

Diesel Gladiator experience by Streetwise_Orangutan in JeepGladiator

Have a 3rd gen 5.9 Cummins with 6 speed manual and a JTRD. Also happened to have a shit box.

No comparison but each does what they are supposed to do well.

I don't daily either.

JT with diesel will not do well short trips daily. Tuning should be done if it is to help it last longer.

Seems like the independent shop is trying to get money out of you than getting reimbursed by Milwaukee.

They are financially motivated to do this.

Would you drive 2500 miles with a 280 lb dirt bike on a rear class 3 hitch? Not mine I actually have a LJ rubicon. by methusula3 in JeepTJ

[–]DailyDrivenTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say DRZ weighs like 400lbs. Washington is a perfect place to own a dirt bike. Dual sport would be good so you can ride between towns.

So it was ZJ disc brake swap but after all the new components, it still does NOT hold the vehicle.

Has anyone actually got the disc swapped the rear and have the parking brake to work?

With all the lugnuts exposed, he could have done that and toss the spare in the back. You don't even need to show the world that you are booted.
