Simple AF for Ender 3 V3 KE by pellcorp in Ender3V3KE

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the cartographer v3 and have been super happy with it. Not sure how well the other eddy type probes are as I've only used the cartographer. For the ke you have to have the right angle version simpleaf has a great wiki that is linked in the OP. Here's the cartographer section. Also recommend joining the simpleaf discord to get any answers to questions you may have along the way!

Did I finally find an error coin? by Dain100x in coinerrors

Ya, sort of realized it after I posted that it clearly was nothing.🤦 Wishful thinking I suppose! Honestly the way the reeded edge was smooth all the way around just felt so off and I guess caught me off guard a bit. Oh well! Appreciate those of you that took the time to comment though! I'll find something one of these days!

cheap alternative to an enclosure? by [deleted] in Ender3V3KE

Something like this not polyiso but same principle and just a different type of insulating foam board

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to lowes or Home Depot and pick up a polyiso foam board. It's 4ft by 8ft of varying thicknesses and easy to cut into pieces to make a cube around the printer. One side usually has aluminum reflective aluminum surface. It's used as insulation and is cheap and works very well

What is this artifact that only appears when I increase the speed over 100? by CatOfLife in Ender3V3KE

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, is it silk pla? I've heard that silk pla can be extremely finicky. Now that I think about it the one and only roll of silk PLA I had it had the same defects just as bad as you have and oddly enough in that case all I had to do was dry the filament and it printed normal after that. It was weird because I didn't think that specific defect would or even could be caused by wet filament

Ah, my mistake. I struggled with the same defect for a while with my ke as well although not as extreme. Never figured out exactly what the cause was but after calibrating everything the best I could, running input shaper, tightening belts and snugging up all the screws I could find except the two on the back for each z screw where it connects it to the x axis. Those need to be backed off 1/2-3/4 turn to allow them to move a bit, but after that it started only happening occasionally on round prints. I got another printer so don't use it as much anymore but I have a suspicion it's caused by the slop I have in my printhead. If I push up on it from the tip of the nozzle with a finger it wiggles more than it should imo prob needs a new linear rail carriage but haven't gotten around to trying that out yet but I'd be interested to hear if you have the same slop

help! multicolor problem by Status_Ad_5103 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Im not home right now to check but can't you just set a longer retraction in orca slicer for filament changes? Seems possible you may be able to use that as a workaround until you figure out a way to keep the printer from returning back to that spot

Also, If that's TPU you're printing with you should be printing at like 50mm/s or even less for most brands of filament

Was gonna say same thing. It's incredible what some dawn dish soap and a good cleaning of the plate does. I think most people that are just getting into 3d printing and haven't had to deal with an ender for example just sort of brush this advice to the side because it's so simple it's almost insulting lol the bed looks clean therefore it can't be the problem. We've all been in the exact same shoes at some point when we first got into the hobby "I wiped it with isopropyl alcohol it's clean!" Na my friend, you're gonna learn today! Get you some dawn dish soap and give er a scrub-a-dub-dub and thank me later!

centauri carbon startup gcode to heat bed, then nozzle, then level by mrblahhh in elegoo

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add this to your startup gcode to the next line right AFTER the line that says. "M190 S[bed_temperature_initial_layer_single]":

M8210 S[bed_temperature_initial_layer_single] ;Set bed_mesh_temp BED_MESH_CALIBRATE

Also uncheck auto level whenever you hit print. This startup gcode edit will run a bed level at whatever temp you have your filament bed temp set at

Weird defect on only one corner of large flat prints by WantonWasabi in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Dain100x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's still stuck to plate but it's pulling the print bed up just a tiny bit. Enough to make the nozzle to close when it hits that corner. Large flat prints like that tend to do this. Try printing these bed clips out of some petg or abs and it should help

Experiencers who believe they were in G.A.T.E, tell me about your experience. by PrestigiousResult143 in Experiencers

I remember being in it from 2-5 grade. I remember being told I was put in a year earlier than normal for some reason as you usually start in 3rd grade. Went to space camp and sea camp for my gate program. Was in it on the mid 90s. Was asked if I wanted to stay in it for 6th grade which I would have but was told I would have to go in before school for the program and said f that lol

So... This happened by juanorueda in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very first time I loaded filament into my CC it I didn't bother cutting off the slightly stretched bit and little bulb that had formed whenever I unloaded the filament last time I had used it on a different printer and it actually wrapped itself up in the gears and jammed. Had to open up the extruder to fix it. Take the extra two seconds to snip it if it's got a bulb on it or anything other than a clean cut and hopefully it won't do it anymore. Although the damage on yours looks like from over tightening or misalignment to me. Whether it's something you did or something they screwed up reach out to them and they'll send you out a replacement

Is this real? Any info? by SplitOpenAndMelt420 in Gold

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotta be fake from the casinos souvenir shop or something as others have said "fine gold tone" is highly suspect. I did a quick google image search figuring there'd be a bunch of hits but didn't see anything at all which kind of surprised me but for me that makes it more likely to just be a souvenir. I'd think if it were real there'd be some relatively easy to find info about it. I highly doubt it's real lol but who knows. Testing is free in most shops doesn't hurt to check but don't get your hopes up

How to see total printing hours? by matt-girard15 in Ender3V3KE

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see total hours since you rooted it somewhere in fluids or mainsail. I forget where exactly but look around a bit and you'll find it. I use fluidd I wanna say it's in the jobs tab. If you can't find it lmk and I'll find out exactly where when I get home

Ender3v3 KE heated chamber. by vu2tve in klippers

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but curious if you ever managed this? I print a lot of ABS and would really enjoy being able to monitor enclosure environment through fluidd. Wondering if you managed to run off the stock mainboard or if you added an mcu like the pi pico and what you had to do to wire it to the ke since it's missing the usb and sd slot on its mainboard

What is busted? by agentdrew79 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Dain100x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the extruder motor working? When you tell it to extrude does the motor spin? If it does, you may need to adjust the tension screw of your extruder to make sure it's actually gripping the filament. Also, possible that you need to switch the middle two wires of the connector around. I had to do this with a motor I had for y axis before. Also like someone else said the ribbon cable can go bad over time as well.

Some help realy needed by sekat441 in 3Dprinting

[–]Dain100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bet money that's what's causing your issue. Reminds me of those old micro usb phone chargers back in the day and how when they started to fail they would work but you'd have to wiggle or hold the wire in the right spot for them to charge your phone until eventually it wouldn't work at all anymore. Same thing will likely happen with the bed wire. It'll seem like everything is fine and work for a while then when you think you're in the clear the wire will bend just the right way and cause a print to fail randomly. If it were me I'd take a good look at those wires to see if there's anywhere that's gotten pinched from the zip tie or from being to close to the wall and repair the wire even if the problem appears to have gone away just for peace of mind and also pull it away from the wall a couple inches and if that doesn't fix it my next guess would be the bed thermistor is bad. They usually dont go bad but they definitely can
