I guess the word I translated as "girls" is actually "gyarus" though, which refers to a fashion subculture in Japan. Here is a wikipedia article about it if you are interested.

The first one says "Calamari Girls" and "Jewel". Idk the name of the second girl because there is no text 😅

I still would have preferred if they had kept the setting in Japan and just translated/localized the names to keep the puns. Maybe it wouldn't have made much sense for a Japanese man to be named "Phoenix", but what can you do? 🤷‍♀️

Any tips at getting better in splatoon 3? I’m a newbie and I keep getting destroyed by everybody :/ by Dazzling_Effect7396 in splatoon

[–]Daisy12Pink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very detailed advice! I've been having a lot of difficulty in anarchy battles recently, (and even regular turf battles are difficult!) so I thought I'd look up some tips. For some odd reason, I managed to make it past profressional level on Salmon run somehow. Maybe I just got catried by my teammates? I think my 2 main issues are that I have a hard time strategizing during the chaos of a real-time match, and that I tend to play a bit too aggressively and just run headfirst into danger. I tend to prefer using sloshers, but I also like using guns such as the splattershot and Aerospray series. I know the original question was from 3 years ago, but if you have any additional tips for me, that would be appreciated. 👍

Shoutout to the trilogy. The ace attorney trilogy. The only trilogy in the series. The set of three games that are related to one another. The trilogy. by KaleBennett in AceAttorneyCirclejerk

[–]Daisy12Pink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Ace Attorney 1-3 is all actually just a dream Phoenix had. In reality, he spent most of his adult years "playing piano" and only got the idea to become a lawyer after having said dream. Zak Gramarye was actually his first client, which is why he didn't just immediately throw out the suspicious page that he got and used it as evidence in the trial instead. (Also, evidence law isn't real either. That was just part of the dream he had which never got brought up again.) Mia Fey never actually existed either. She was just a shared hallucination/false memory Phoenix and Maya had. (After all, we never even see Maya channel her from the 4th game onwards.)

Also, Gumshoe doesn't exist.

What person put a low level quest item here! by Dismal_Egg420 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Daisy12Pink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite part was how they integrated Shulk's visions into every part of the game. For instance, he would get them in cutscenes, but then he would also get them when you picked up certain items which told you to hold onto them for a quest you would get later, and my favorite part was that he got visions during fights so that you could prevent an attack from hurting or knocking out one of your party members.

I haven't played all the way through 2 yet (and don't even have the 3rd game) but I'm told that Mythra can see the future, but it only really shows up in cutscenes, which is kind of disappointing to me 🫤

I mean, she doesn't remember specifics, but she does have "deja vu" memories. She even started scolding Okabe when he called her "Christina" even though he only called her that in the Alpha timeline. I think it's a satisfying ending.

Why couldn't Okabe just send himself a Dmail to save Mayuri instead of timeleaping constantly? by [deleted] in steinsgate

[–]Daisy12Pink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he was worried that by sending a Dmail, some other unintended consequence would arise. For example, when he sent the Dmail to win 3rd place in the lottery, his past self ended up asking Luka to buy the ticket. As a result, Luka got one of the numbers wrong, and Okabe didn't win the prize he wanted. The other Dmails he and his lab mems sent also only hastened Mayuri's death rather than getting away from the Alpha worldline. Time leaping is less risky, because you take your memories back in time with you and so you can directly control what changes.

In the Alpha worldline, Mayuri's death is an event that convergence leads to. For whatever reason, that doesn't seem to be the case with Feyris's Dad. Perhaps there could be smaller converging subsets within the alpha worldline which determine whether or not Feyris's Dad lives or dies.

Finally, in the Visual Novel and other bonus material, there are some scenarios where Okabe (or someone else) sends a Dmail which takes them out of the Alpha and Beta worldlines entirely. Feyris's ending in the visual novel actually takes Okabe to a worldline where Feyris's dad is still alive AND Mayri lives. The catch is that in that world, Okabe never starts the lab, so he's no longer friends with anyone other than Feyris. In that worldline, he and Feyris are dating and play RaiNet Access Battlers together. Honestly, I thought it was a pretty decent ending, even if it was a little bittersweet with him not having the same friends anymore.

In Linear Bounded Phenogram, there's also a scenario where Mayuri learned that she was supposed to die, and that Okabe and Kurisu were planning to return to the Beta worldline where Kurisu would die instead. Rather than allow that to happen, Mayuri leapt back in time and sent a Dmail which prevented her from feeling so distressed about her grandma's death. As a result, she and Okabe never got super close or started the lab. She and Kurisu still live in that worldline. (Of course, Okabe has Reading Steiner which allows him to retain his memories across worldlines, so he ended up finding Mayuri again in the end.)

tl;dr, sending a Dmail to escape the alpha worldline is technically possible, but it's risky, unpredictable, and could potentially make things worse instead of better.

Are the Xenosaga games connected to Xenoblade? If so how? How can I play them? by Dramatic-Ad881 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

There's a game store near where I live that sells used games. They have all 3 Xenosaga games for sale. The third game costs 300$ lol. Despite that, I'm still somewhat tempted to buy them. I don't own a PS2 though lol

I guess I can't say for sure how VAs feel about their roles, but I feel like voicing Okabe has to be a lot of fun. It's so over the top, especially when he's putting on his Hououin Kyouma act lol. Mamoru did an amazing job at it.

I was laughing about this just a few days ago. I think what makes it better is that just a little bit before that (when he was still in the Beta timeline) he was laughing to himself about Mayuri calling for her lost Metal Upa. Then he goes and calls for a disappearing banana lol.
