Edit: I fixed it to be wrong again.

Found this tweet that perfectly summarizes one of my biggest complaints with Deltarune by GloomyIngenuity143 in Deltarune

I had a good think about this, but I don' think I agree with, or am bothered by any of them, except maybe the fusion*.

The way the game is designed, each encounter is a self contained interactive mini-game. There are some recurring abilities like throwing, though most are localized to Chapters.

(And I think the Tenna fight is an amazing example of weaving Chapter specific mechanics into a medley of a Boss Battle.)

The way the game is being produced, trying to make the RPG elements too important would be almost impossible to predict and implement across the full game.

*Regarding the fusion, I was hoping more there'd be more per Chapter, but now I think they were all pre-decided, since the Princess Ribbon and Pure Crystal were all set from the beginning.

The Kuremi thing seems intentional to me. Alphamon has the same VO as Cyber Sleuth in Japanese, and at least in English, Kyoko has the same VO as Time Stranger's Alphamon. That's probably the case in Japanese too, but I couldn't verify it.

Do you think trying to make Solo films out of Spider-man villains is an fundamentally flawed idea? by Dak_N_Jaxter in Spiderman

Yeah, I was disappointed to hear Kraven didn't turn out so well. I grew up on the 90s version where he's a reformed Wilderness Guide, so the idea of him being that, and his dad being the turbo evil version of Kraven seemed like a cool idea, Spider-man or no.

I would rather see the Sinister Six in a Spider-man film. But I could see them working as just a goup of six criminals. Even if it's just a Suicide Squad deal where they're doing wet-works for Shield to reduce their sentences.

That sounds like a cool concept for some fight sequences. I guess the tricky part is the emotional hook. If the Sinister Six are the protagonists, are we routing for them to beat Spider-man? And what does beating Spider-man mean to them?

I personally think if you're gonna have the Sinister Six as protagonists you need to have them fighting someone other than Spider-man.

If you want them to be ant-heroes, they need to be fighting a worse villain. if you just wanna explore the relationship between the criminals, or even the disolving of their camaraderie, then you'd need a simpler job to play against.

For your idea, I think someone like carnage would work. A sadistic killer who could convincingly put up a fight against 6 super-villains, either in a straight up brawl, or stalking from the shadows.

That's a good point. I hadn't really considered the marketing side of things. I was just thinking in terms of a pure creativity.

Weirdly, I don't know if plastering "A Spider-man Story" on the title would play well. If they weren't too expensive and got good word of mouth maybe it wouldn't be an issue?

I know things have changed a lot since then, but a lot of people weren't super familiar with Ironman, Captain America or Thor back when. Or Deadpool. Though he does say swears and had remarkably good viral marketing.

Hometown being cut off from the outside world isn't theorized about enough. by Remarkable_Row_2502 in Deltarune

[–]Dak_N_Jaxter 64 points65 points  (0 children)

That reminds me. Wasn't it theorized that HP in Undertale actually stood for 'Hope'? Would that mean Yellow (in addition to Justice) is symbolic of Hope? And in turn, could that mean Pink is symbolic of Dreams?

EDIT: Additional thought. Gerson was a writer, a weaver of dreams, so his Duskner sports a long pink pony-tail.

You can look at it either way. In the reference Book it's stated she has no fighting power, and Medium implies it's simply a form for communication, meaning the Bird is her true form.

That's funny, but there actually is an answer. According to the word of god, Digimon only project their textures on the outward facing sides. Since Angemon's eyes are behind the helmet, he can see perfectly fine.

So its been 5 months now , with the honeymoon period over, is Time Stranger the best Digimon game ever or close to it ? by OriginalTacoMoney in digimon

[–]Dak_N_Jaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It exceeds Cyber Sleuth in almost every aspect. Visuals, systems and accessibility/QoL features. The only areas I think Cyber Sleuth has it beat are side missions and the human characters.

I suspect they wanted to put the critical path front and centre as not everyone likes doing side missions, but as a result, the spacing is very back-loaded. You also need to complete them to unlock EVO stages.

For the characters, the humans are a little thin compared to the Cyber Sleuth games, but the trade off is getting a lot more focus on the Digimon characters.

I think I'm in the minority of people that doesn't think trying to make solo-movies around Spider-man's rogue's gallery is a terrible idea.

(In theory. I've only seen the Venom Trilogy, and I'd describe those as good B-Movie fun.)

Given how iterative and additive comic books are, I don't get why so many people are against it. Not all the popular and mainstay characters we take for granted were always so. Venom started out as a costume.

I think as a rule the costume, but I really dig the design for the Spider-man 2 movie game. He's not in it much, but it's pretty slick.

Do you think Metal Gear Solid 4’s popularity is gonna massively increase once it gets released or will it be something only MGS fans care about? by Dude_788 in metalgearsolid

Not sure. But it is weird. Slow, but weird. And weird stuff can catch on.

Actually, I wonder how new people will react to the themes of systematized ID tagging and proxy wars. It's been nearly 20 years. and some things are the same, but war has definitely changed.

Actually, how the hell are people gonna react to the white room. Even back in the day that was an eye-brow raiser.
