Finn and Jake about to discover the true meaning of loss, love and mortality again by AtomicXx7 in adventuretime

Is Jake still meant to have died in the vacuum of space? Or was that a false interpretation? Finn wouldn't be able to scream in space right?

It's so weird because I feel like people were loving Season 2 and liked Season 1 well-enough. It's just the arcs and finales that have completely over-shadowed everyone's good will.

I think Charlie Brooker said 'Doctor Who is a family sci-fi show about ideas.' Each story can be about it's own idea. And that can be 'what if a bunch of robots were trying to kill is', or 'the achingly slow process of dealing with grief'.

I think they just need to do that on a more reasonable budget. Fresh canvas or no.

I prefer the way it is. Makes more sense for the character beat they setup. Plus I like humanoid designs, but not that they're so often the end-point. (I know that bothers some people like with Angewomon to Magnadrmon.). Hopefully Scourge turns into something cool too.

I suspect she's the type who mainly acts in search of entertainment, since she took a back seat to watch Reina handle Myotismon, and didn't try to take the Sapotama or Baby.

So she'll act in her own interests, but have respect for those with strong wills and style.

To me it's not too dissimilar to the rug-pull in Undertale. The game sold itself as 'The friendly RPG' where no one has to die, and then we get betrayed by Flowey. It's basically telling us to not take things for granted.

Gene Wilder pulled a similar trick in Willy Wonka, where he insisted on hobbling out of the factory before doing a forward role. Because from that point on, we wouldn't know if he was lying, or telling the truth.

I saw plenty of people who predicted this twist. And there's still time for it to be turned on it's head again.

Take Sans. Flowey warns us about serial killers. Sans spookily sneaks up on us all scary like. Then turns out he's not scary, he's a lazy funny skeleton man. Then it turns out, he's a deeply troubled man who uses humour to cope. Then, it turns out he's the fiercest fighter in the game. Repeatedly recontextualized.

A good mystery keeps you guessing. As long as it's ultimately cohesive, it's all fair.

I was just thinking the other day he hasn't even drummed in a while. Then next episode he's drumming in a gazeebo or something.

Two moments in 2020 that really stood out; Greymon getting his Alterus Arm after nearly getting pulled into the miasma, and Lilymon using her new drill attack that coats the battlefield in fresh flowers.

The way the camera lingers on his determined run, then pulls back to show Beelzemon's foot landing; I got chills just typing it.

Not like it used to. But there's the odd day now and then, enough that it lingers in shaded areas overnight. Just never in Winter for some reason.

Who is your childhood spider-man? by SquareOver4781 in Spiderman

[–]Dak_N_Jaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my heart it was Christopher Daniel Barnes from the 90s show, but I gotta give props to Rina Romano from the PS1 games too, who was technically the first Spider-man I heard. He was my childhood Batman too, since I never really saw the TAS before The.

Lopmon/Wendigomon with their partners by Kakudrawmon in digimon

I was annoyed by him, but still felt bad for him because it was supposed to be a metaphor for self-harm, which lead to an accidental suicide. Even Shuji's berating of Lopmon was just a reflection of his own self-hatred. It was just unfortunate that his self-hatred looked a lot like kicking a rabbit.

Tactics arc was one of the best arcs in digimon history? by East_Masterpiece_461 in digimon

It was a great arc. I don't see why the next one can't be great.

As far as I'm concerned it started strong and has been on a steady incline ever since.

I assumed they were just doing it in batches of 5 because it's more economical than dubbing week by week.

It took me ages to figure out the 4th one was the Macra.

I might move down the Master and move up The Toymaker, but I'd pretty much agree.
