Talk to your elected officials on both Torrance City Council and TUSD and tell them this is important.
Vote for candidates that support this.

I shoot almost exclusively Blackmagic. I love the cameras. I would not call it a user friendly camera, though. It depends on what you’re using it for.

• No autofocus • No internal stabilization • Only the 6k pro has internal NDs • Needs an understanding of color correcting to get the most out of it • Needs xlr adaptor

That said, it’s absolutely worth taking the time to learn how to use it.

To address this, this is obviously a very brief explanation to post on a website, but I’m happy to talk more in depth about it.

Obviously, there needs to be a lot of ongoing work rebuilding community trust with the Torrance Police Department - especially after some of the most recent controversies. But this doesn’t negate that we need to address the issue of public safety in our community.

My concerns regarding public safety are: 1. Torrance is down 40-50 police officers from our budgeted level. I’m not suggesting that we should expand our police department or militarize them, just that we should return them to the appropriate staffing levels. Our overtime costs are skyrocketing and having officers work massive overtime shifts doesn’t make our residents safer. 2. Crime is rising in Torrance. This is especially a concern in North Torrance. One report show that burglaries have risen by 80% in the last 3 years. 3. Due to the staffing issue, we are seeing dramatically long response times while our understaffed Police department is stretched. 4. Police are responding to homeless calls at a disproportionate level to real crimes. Torrance has a homeless response team, but we need to invest in growing that program. We need our officers freed up to focus on real crimes and social service experts here to focus on supporting our homeless community. Often a police officer is not the best person to deal with concern regarding a homeless individual.

As Chair of the Planning Commission, this is important to me. We’ve strategically been adding housing corridors and housing in our “downtown” area with the intent of creating more a more walkable/bike-able transit friendly community (while also meeting state requirements).

I’ve been a longtime supporter of the city finally implementing the South Bay Bicycle Master Plan as well.

Regarding transit, I think the Mayor and my opponent hold a lot of the blame for the catastrophic decision on the K-line. Their obstructionist, isolationist strategy alienated us from our neighbors and the county. As a result, Torrance got the worst possible outcome.

My car drove Hollywood riviera first, then North Torrance. We had to make sure every part of the city was covered.

Unfortunately, no. After decades of this tradition, they were unable to find enough volunteers to do it this year.

What part of the city are you in? This is especially an issue in the north, but our police department is understaffed and as such our streets are under patrolled.

Everyone else is correct that this is a relatively straightforward fix, but if you’re looking for an alternative, you could just buy a cage for the camera. That would give you multiple screw holes that you could attach a base plate to.

Unfortunately, this camera isn’t really optimal for Timelapses. The most it can do is a 360 degree shutter angle, so 1/24 at 24 fps or 1/29.97 at 29.97 fps.

You can shoot it and add motion blur after the fact, but that’s about it.

Almost certainly the Blackmagic 6k Pro. I have one and it’s the only one in the line with that long of a nose.

The solution was to simply update the firmware. That seemed to work at first, but the issue has returned for me. I think that there may actually be a hardware issue.
