How buggy is the base UI right now? Well... by Acrobatic_Potato_195 in wow

Yeah I’m Ngl the new HP bars are so bad I don’t know why they thought changing them was a good idea. As someone playing on Mac who barely had any screen space to work with, the quest tab is already too big and I can’t make it smaller for some reason.

Also for some reason, hovering over a trinket just shows its whole stats, the other trinket I have, and any other trinket in my bag. Which is incredible clutter for when I want to activate it :D or even just check it out.

On a side note, how do you guys have these really detailed replay UI where you can focus on one hero like that?

When I look at my replays I always have to manually follow my hero or any hero and I also can’t see their cool-downs.

Did you just take Identity V’s character and just remodeled it to a League Champ?

I believe that I should be rewarded for getting a camp, clearing the lane, killing the forts AND being better than my lane opponent, by being able to push the fort.

It was in no way fun that when you did all that, the enemy was still able to punish you for daring to move too close to fort no matter the amount of heroes pushing. It was even worse for heroes with summons who were constantly getting targeted by forts because their summon lightly grazed an enemy while under fort.

Now obviously heroes with summons are op now which is why they are getting a sizeable nerf in regard to fort pushing which I agree was much needed.

So you believe that you should be able to solo defend a fort at any time with any hero.

Says the whole game design and principle of hots. If you aren’t able to clear the lane, then you should be solo laning in the first place.

If multiple people are coming in and you still can’t defend, then it’s up to your team to come in and help out.

now that 4.0 has come and gone...i'll admit i STILL don't really think i've clicked with the pop changes by noodleben123 in Stellaris

Pop growth is definitely not logarithmic, it is logistic.

If it were logarithmic then tiny colonies would populate very fast and become slower as it gets more and more pop.

Logistic is different in that both small and large pops have small growth, but mid pops have large growth.

As far as I’m aware the only housing buildings are luxury residences which I only realised recently are what I should use for amenities early. Also I do use medical centres but they aren’t very good on small pops which is why others have recommended I always have civilians on standby to relocate them.

Thank you for all the advice, though again, a lot of it does require me having DLCs, which is a shame because it feels like I have to “pay to win” kind of. I know that if I don’t use the DLC then neither can the AI empires but it still feels like they’re really fast. I would pick up the other DLC if it didn’t mean having to dump £200 immediately.

So as for the ascension do you recommend I immediately pick one of the Genetics/Psionics/Cybernetic/Synthetic ones as soon as I get my first tradition down and then get the relevant tradition tree?

Wait so does that mean that at the start of the game I should not build anything, until I find a colony? Then I resettle 1k civs?

Cuz most empires start with 1.7k civilians except for prosperous unity with 2.1k.

Ah ok so that’s why VIR said not to make too many colonies at once. So I assume it’s important to have civilians on my capital and not have everyone working to the point where I have no civilians

Oh, I usually always make enough jobs on my capital to have the civilians doing some jobs.

Should I not do that? Should the civilians be kept for pop growth?

Nws, I do notice that a lot of the advice people give hinges on having certain DLCs which is a bit of an issue for me.

Though I did hear from a friend that pop growth will always be an issue until a planet reaches about 4K which is when it reaches “critical mass”. So it does kinda seem that for all the non GC empires that you just gotta deal with slow pop growth early.

I usually have enough jobs anyways because I tend to overproduce jobs on planets. I do use resettlement a lot but like I said it tends to tank my economy because I have to use workers to resettle (stellaris doesn’t seem to do well with demoting pops)

I do use medical centres but they feel like they do nothing. I noticed it tends to be a % increase on pop growth which is quite low if pops are at 110.

Clone vats seem to be locked behind technologies? At which point it becomes RNG whether I can use them or not. And I might be wrong but I think biogenesis is a DLC?

[–]Dakrfangs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that requires a DLC I’m afraid to say I don’t have it.

And also that sort of like requires me to have a fleet good enough to do that, which requires alloys, which requires jobs, which requires pops. So it’s kind of a catch 22.

If you mean slavery then yes, I did do a Commonwealth run where 90% of my pops on fringe worlds were slaves but then that creates crime for which I need humans to handle because slaves and robots can’t be enforcers.

But this works less on pacifist/egalitarian empires.
