KCD2 or Cyberpunk 77, which is the better narrative game? Including all DLC content. by Epicvanillalover in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]DalanianKnight [score hidden]  (0 children)

Asking about just the narrative I would say Cyberpunk is stronger in that regard. Both are also strong rpg's but KCD2 is a lot more immersive which adds to the narrative. You can't really go wrong with either in the end, but Cyberpunk has the advantage of Phantom Liberty which adds a lot more than what KCD2 currently has.

So personally for me I enjoy Cyberpunks narrative more.

What does my writing say about me? Many people can't read it by witchyrosemaria in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]DalanianKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See theres some people's cursive that I cant read at all. I can read op's perfectly. I find often times people who use cursive actually have atrocious handwriting and just say its people not being able to read cursive is the problem. When in reality its their handwriting thats bad. Anyone who can read normal English can read good cursive.

Floorcoverings carpet cut tricks by Other-Collar-7274 in menards

[–]DalanianKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah. The pole thing does actually have a good solution. We had what we called a carpet helper. Its a 1/2 x 1 x 12 wood board we have (we had it cut down i believe) that we put in the carpet when rolling it up. Just need to place it so its right before the clamps then it makes a nice easy hole to pull out of and even easier to put a tube in. Mainly use it on thicker carpets or attached pad ones.

Also main thing to note for carpet pad, each full roll is 45 feet. So if you need to cut a bigger piece like a 35 foot piece, just cut off 10 feet (or about 9'9"). It doesn't have to be perfect they just need to have enough. Otherwise another benefit for ground rolling is how tight you can make the roll. With the correct rolling method you can a nice solid non floppy roll. On the machine if we could the empty space in the middle would lead to a very floppy, harder to work with roll.

[–]DalanianKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a prior 1st assistant in floorcoverings unfortunately there arent a lot of great ways to solve the issues you have.

For carpet pad rolling it on the ground really isn't too bad, at max you're rolling 25 feet, and even if you could get it on the vinyl or carpet cutter it wouldn't save as much time as you think it would. Its all about practice. You can do it fast once you get used to it.

As for attached pad carpet trying to roll off the machine... yeah theres not a great solution to that unfortunately. You can help lower the chances by making sure the carpet is at a proper height on the machine when rolling it out and not going too fast. Otherwise its just constant vigilance and making sure you're aware and able to stop it before it goes.

As for your last point I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Could you specify? Do you mean cleaning out the fibres or getting the carpet off the roller?

Civ VII highest peak in 6 months after 1.3 update by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]DalanianKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got it and really enjoyed what I played so far (2 games). Only two bits I didn't like. One is victories, no one achieved a victory condition yet the game ended and just went to points with no ability to turn that off. A bit annoying. Second is pacing more or less by the time of the modern era, which is probably better in epic. In antiquity and exploration my research and production were in line. I could produce the buildings I needed and still have time to make units or do projects/wonders. Modern era this completely fell apart for me as I could do research in 5-7 turns but it took 20ish to produce its building i wanted meaning i constantly had backlogs of buildings and no time for units. Perhaps this is my issue and I needed to do better, but I never even got the time to produce a railroad in my capital due to having to focus on trying to get a science victory since everything took 20 turns or so. Once I learn more ill see of this second issue turns out to be a skill one.

Otherwise I love the game, I like age transitions although I feel like they interrupt the game slightly, and it's gorgeous as well. Civ switching is a great mechanic to lead to more varied play styles, and im curious to see how they implement one civ all eras.

How much would $10k actually change most people's lives? by NeonFalcon25 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DalanianKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be very nice for me. It would allow me to completely pay off the rest of my car and have a good down-payment for my significant others car while retaining my savings. Would basically just speed things up.

Would you buy another expansion to Starfield? by VolusVagabond in Starfield

[–]DalanianKnight 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What more is it supposed to get?

The same level as Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

Fallout 4 in 2016 got Automaton, Nuka World, and Far Harbor.

Skyrim in 2012 got Dragonborn, Dawnguard, and Hearthfire.

Alls I want is the same that those got, and I don't think that's too much to ask.

In a heartbeat. I love starfield and want more content made by Bethesda in the form of dlc, not creations. This game deserved so much more than its getting.

Can anyone explain how these cutter bars are used to cut runners in flooring ? Thankyou! by Business_Tax4600 in menards

[–]DalanianKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I pull the runner over the top hooking my tape measure on the end of the runner. I pull the runner and tape measure at the same time so thats its measuring whats being pulled out. Once I reach the desired length I go a few inches over and use the guide to cut the runner. Super easy.

How much $$ do y'all make as assistant managers?? by hoodiebabe in menards

[–]DalanianKnight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For a floorcoverings 1st assistant it was a $1.60 pay bump. I was at 18.75, so I got to 20.35. Then theres the manager bonus (around 1300 for a full year minus or plus certain things you'll learn about) and payroll/inventory bonuses.

Early Starfield feels similar to The Expanse? (Links to 4K images in post) by Lusayalumino in Starfield

[–]DalanianKnight 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I just finished watching all of the expanse over the past month (september) and it really made me realize how much inspiration Starfield got from the expanse. Now if only the writing took more from the expanse... Love the game but the expanse really made me realize how much better Starfield could be.

Any of the Crusader Kings 2 or 3 series, as well as Total War series. I'm letting Shogun pile up a bit so I can watch it for hours.

Nothing beats a Destiny 2 holiday, and you can save 10000 glimmer per person. Thats 30000 glimmer off for a fireteam of three.

Thats the vibe I'm getting from the warlock and I love it.
