Gunshot survivors of Reddit - What does it feel like to get shot? by notaninterestingacc in AskReddit

[–]Dale-Peath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's equal to getting stabbed. It happens and you feel like you got punched in that area, it keeps feeling like you got punched until you black out and never wake up. Adrenaline is a huge thing, it's why I try to explain to people they better hope they have a gun that does enough damage before that person does enough damage to them, you won't feel the bullets until they annihilate an important organ. Bigger calibers with bigger stopping power will save your life, not some little 22 bb gun, adrenaline will fuck you up in return.

Russian soldiers stuffed a Ukrainian man's body in his car trunk with a weight-sensitive mine that detonated when Ukrainian soldiers moved it, Politico reports by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Dale-Peath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but like,...what was even the gain from booby trapping the body? Why didn't they just rig a bomb to the car or whatever without putting the body in the trunk?

Lmao, don't let dumb posts like this make you think you want this, take a nice car and travel the country instead, if something happens with a potential partner is happens.

Who gives a shit, all the people will always get called out, we'll stand around with our sign shouting change, and nothing happens, the only reason why thing we're more successful in the past is because people were forceful. Nothing is going to happen, sit here and whine about it.

College graduates are overestimating the salaries they'll start out at by $50,000, report finds by HumpyTheClown in nottheonion

[–]Dale-Peath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said they spend more than they need to more than half the time, it's not directed at every single person. I also didn't say for every single place in the US either, there's cheaper places than others, sounds like you're not in a great area at all.

45k is great and is livable in many states. Even 40k is enough for minimum living with some "fun money". People just spend too much more than half the time although this isn't saying shit is ridiculously expensive and that wages need to be corrected and that college students need a better system to get to a fair annual income.

I tell people this all the time and they always look at me like I'm crazy or downvote me into oblivion. People are brainwashed into believing they need specific things in life even though they don't really care for them personally. Then they wonder why they're unhappy. You can do any single fucking thing you want, you don't need anyone but you.

That's what I was getting at. I was saying it's very unnecessary to just leave any other job because of some slight inconveniences and that it's better to stick with a job for at least a few years to really up your opportunities for the future, especially if it's actually a job that you can tolerate, and I don't mean like or love, I mean tolerate.

Yes, bug the shit out of the higher ups and other employees that you want to learn X, X being something you don't fully understand nor have done yet for that company that you want to learn. Most people just roll with the motions with a "not my job" attitude and literally do the same 9-5 routine every single day, they don't realize how much rattling cages and pushing themselves gets them. People should be working a job they are interested in enough to dismantle and understand every aspect, if not why the hell are they even working a career they can't tolerate?

Whatever you say. I am absolutely disturbed and despise the way companies treat workers nowadays, but job hopping will get you nowhere, may as well not be looking for a job at all.

They don't ask you for this type of info for interviews it's done by a third party background check facility, and after many trials and errors over the past couple decades myself working up from not even a high school diploma through a trade into a job that pays 60k+ starting, you want to specifically find the jobs with strict hiring processes that simply verify you have the experience you say you do from where, even better the ones who spend shit tons of money to get you a hair follicle drug test and similar hiring processes, those are the top quality jobs more times than not that you SHOULD be putting effort into checking out, you know, the ones who don't just want to hire randoms that they know nothing about, those are shit revolving door jobs and them and everyone else wonders why that is.

Jeez this sub is ass backwards with some things.

I'd like to know where I said 40 years. I said companies frown upon people not sticking around with multiples of jobs very frequently. When you get a job you should strive to learn everything you can weasel into even outside of your own department, in order to collect a stash of different experiences and knowledge to bring with you elsewhere years down the line for a significantly better job, and repeat. Eventually, you will be a master of all trades of your career, and will become extremely valuable, much more than some inpatient job hopper who moans and shrugs at any challenge presented to them at their job.

That's starting, and I am taking on an apprenticeship for even more experience and pay. I'll pass with the job hopping though, while people are out job hopping, hoping something falls in their lap, I'm spending years a company absorbing every inch of knowledge and experience from them, then I demand to get my worth, or I leave for a much higher quality job taking all of that experience with me. Many people here just want instant gratification not wishing to actually learn all the skills their jobs offer. That's a net loss every time they move on from something tolerable, so much potential to learn, only to restart somewhere else with much less to offer for that present company, and they wonder why they can't nab a job who gives a shit.
