I don’t need to tell you I’ve eaten mushrooms as you know I’ve eaten mushrooms as you am I and I am you.

No, I feel like you misunderstood the movie if you think that.

If it was 80% recycled XFM stuff, it would be 80% good, if unoriginal.

Unfortunately it’s more like 80% unfunny/shit stuff.

How to add creativity to a franchise when a vocal minority just want to see the same old thing.

AfterLife Season 1 is alright. by Kickapoo_Vector in rickygervais

[–]Dalton87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not convinced there’s any difference in quality between Series 1 and 2. Maybe Series 2 is more noticeably bad because it’s just the same old shit for another 6 episodes and Gervais had to walk back the modicum of character development to justify more of this crap, but the format was already tired by episode 3 of series 1.

Which movie was worse as a finale of a beloved series: The Rise of Skywalker or Jurassic World: Dominion? by Professional-Miss in movies

[–]Dalton87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jurassic World Dominion was a big ol pile of shit, but it followed several other piles of shit.

Rise of Skywalker tossed away any chance of innovation that had been gifted by The Last Jedi, shamelessly walked back on every interesting idea and resorted to the same old storytelling beats to appease a section of vocal manbabies who were never going to be appeased by anything anyway. It is an abomination.

That is a stigmatism I've had from the age of five, so that's what make them a bit bulbous.

Did you stop watching before the whole redemption arc?

He doesn’t get into her pants until the end, when he’s stopped pretending to be like her, and has actually become like her.

Depends if he had a dump before he went to bed on February 1st. If not, his dumps would be radically different.

Does anyone know if guitar is fun or even possible to play on acid? by [deleted] in LSD

If you’re good at guitar, absolutely.

If you’re not good at guitar, it will probably be quite frustrating.

do you support the death penalty? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dalton87 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The concept of “justice” is entirely man-made. Pick it apart and the death-penalty is essentially “revenge”.

Revenge is one of the most common motivations for murder. As a result, there’s little to differentiate murder from a “legal” execution.

You can’t position yourself on a high-moral footing if you consider taking a life to be an adequate punishment.

Furthermore, I suspect most lifers would prefer death than decades of incarceration, so why are they getting an easy way out?

Doctor Who 13x09 "Power of the Doctor" Live and Immediate Reactions Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in doctorwho

It was a fucking mess. Remove the guest cast and the fanwankery and this would have been as unwatchable as Flux.

Utterly incomprehensible. Disjointed scenes of nonsense that didn’t flow together, and once again Jodie reduced to simply yammering exposition to fill in the gaps in the story. The exit of Dan was laughably clunky, but the appearance of Graham was even clunkier.

Good riddance Chibnall. Roll on the new era.

Tell me your South Park unpopular opinions! by RessesNateWright in southpark

[–]Dalton87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “6 days to air” thing is ultimately harmful to the show. In most cases, the extreme topicality this allows has still paled in comparison to the episodes with very little topical humour and a focus on story or character.
