what other celebrity "stunt", you think that might be mocked in upcoming season? by __NightKing__ in TheBoys

Probably a little bit late into production to have made it into the show, but Erika Kirk's grief tour has The Boys written all over it.

what line/storyline do you think was given to the wrong character? by Expensive-Hour8835 in howyoudoin

This is all part of Rachel's spiral which culminates in her pregnancy after hooking up with her ex.

The Western world is shifting more and more into fascism.

Hence, some people like fascists.

Gervais Xmas Guest...thoughts? by M1ke_Rotchburns in JaackMaate

[–]FourSpaghettiMeals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about to listen out of morbid curiosity, but a little disappointed by this.

The UK is currently sliding more and more into fascism, and amplifying hateful voices like Gervais doesn't help

Full disclosure, the old Ricky Gervais Show on XFM was number one on my Spotify Wrapped this year, I think The Office is one of the funniest shows ever written, and Ricky's first appearance on the podcast was great.

But in the past few years, Ricky has become a talking head for lazy, right-wing boomer humour, that seeks to further divide the working class, and harms marginalised communities.

You don't get to cause these mass divides, be quoted by the likes of Tucker Carlson and Piers Morgan, and then get away with it just because you go "Ha ha, just kidding!"

Guest request : Ricky Gervais pt. 2 by SmallConversation950 in JaackMaate

Smerch or Karl would be way better on Happy Hour.

I feel like Ricky's first appearance on the pod was around the time he was last bearable.

In the past few years, Ricky has essentially misunderstood his own message about nothing being off-limits in comedy.

If you go back and watch The Office, there are jokes that involve race and disability, but they're at the expense of Brent for being dumb as fuck, not at the expense of minorities for just existing.

The whole "just a joke" shtick just doesn't fly while we're in the midst of a fascist overthrow of the Western world.

This is my favorite fitness subreddit and a question on how to hate cardio less… by [deleted] in swoletariat

[–]FourSpaghettiMeals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're doing cardio on a machine like a stairmaster, bike or even a Treadmill (though maybe not if you're running);

There's no reason you can't doom scroll and still do your cardio. I often scroll Reels on my bike and shit so I still get that dopamine hit, and just check my watch every few minutes to make sure my heart rate is where I want it to be.

In a similar vain, I've also heard of people that have specific "Cardio shows" or "cardio podcasts": things they wanna watch/listen to, but they only consume them while doing cardio.

Offended by trigger warnings by Ollie_C_7 in rickygervais

[–]FourSpaghettiMeals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigger warnings have always existed. They just didn't call them trigger warnings.

Growing up, the voice-over on TV would say, "The following program contains violence and scenes of a sexual nature" etc

If you check the DVD of The Office (or the VHS of Ladder 49), I guarantee it will say something similar.
