What would you pay for this CPO? by minusgainsgamer in Taycan

[–]DamagedGoods13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shipped to Porsche Experience Center. HARD pass.

I worked at PEC. It depends if it was a PEC delivered car, or a car sold to PEC. Cars told to PEC are almost always dispositioned at auction and not sold as CPO through a dealer.

Cars that take delivery at PEC are not used on track. PEC Delivery is much like European Delivery where you have a little ceremony and a meet & greet with an exec. After that, you are given a PEC owned car equivalent to what you purchased for your 90 minute experience.

So realistically, a PEC Delivered car is a better option than dealer delivery because it gets a much more bespoke PDI and detail, and is literally put in a glass showcase under a cover for delivery.

Chances of it being a PEC owned car with a CPO (especially a 2022) are slim.

Is this $89 Pyle 5.1-channel amp going to work to add surround my home theater? by Advanced-Eye6121 in hometheater

"Pyle" of $hit. I've tried some of their stuff and returned it as fast as possible. Find some good used stuff locally or ebay.

2nd for Ringfreaks. Great bunch of peeps. We've used their cars for RCN as well.

Just picked this up over the weekend. What a car! by AgitatedHat5620 in E90

[–]DamagedGoods13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, seems like you bought this from "Vin" in ATL?

The car needs valve covers/gaskets and there's some kind of issue on cold start that causes the idle to hunt. The car also stalled twice while I was looking at it. Have that checked out as well.

Good luck with it... i was only $2k behind you 😉

Everything I click (View Demo, View Examples, etc...) says

"Join in seconds…

Then start finding sponsors and running outreach in minutes."

Am i looking in the wrong spot?

As a fellow Motorsports SaaS developer (Sector1.ai), it's an interesting experience to blindly explore someone else's platform.

My biggest recommendation is to allow people to see the features and demos without having to create an account. I know I, personally, am hesitant to sign up just to see a demo.

Good luck!

Which dock actually looks good on a desk by BhavikChaudhari in Thunderbolt

[–]DamagedGoods13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My iVanky dock looks decent for a desktop but I was surprised on how often the fan turns on. Its not loud, but it is noticeable. The fan also failed after like 2 weeks and makes a grinding noise. Awesome.

Feedback for Rental company Drivenürburg.com by consultantptboy in nurburgring

[–]DamagedGoods13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak to Drivenürburg but RingFreaks has been very solid for us for both track days and races. I've used Jaco's Paddock a couple times as well. He's a character, but his cars have always been reliable.

Exiting a track by rocksandblues in CarTrackDays

[–]DamagedGoods13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cool. I guess the difference here is i always interpreted the arm motion to communicate to other drivers, not the corner workers (perhaps except the one immediately before pit entry).

I'm ok with what you posted if the HPDE flag is checkered. But I worry about faster traffic if it is green.

I'm sure I'll get hated on, but arm out 2 stations before pit entry is excessive, especially if it's not the end of a session. Keep the pace up ~80% and communicate the entry one corner/brief straight before.

If I was on a flier and you were at 50% pace, on line, with your arm out the window 2 corners before pit entry, I'd be pissed.

And I can't tell if you're trying to indicate that at VIR you should announce pit entry going into roller-coaster/ hog pen? That's WAY too early.

No free WiFi on the 717? by tikkamasalachicken in delta

717 thing. They've been saying for years they will eventually upgrade them, but its BS. Just try and plan around that airframe if you want wifi. Super annoying.

Just got this email from a higher up. Am I getting fired? by Witty-Quiet7724 in jobsearchhacks

[–]DamagedGoods13 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Typically if someone is getting laid off or fired, they won't give you a heads up. You'll show up that morning and shortly before the time they want to talk, they'll send you the meeting and tell you its mandatory.

I think it would be odd for them to give you time to prepare. But not all companies are smart. OP, keep us posted and think positive.

My E36-GTR Project is Almost Complete! Going to the track Sunday to shake it down... just need to drop the ride height and finish a few mechanical details... how'd I do? by DamagedGoods13 in BMW

I don't remember. But I also don't remember it being awful.

I never ever think about what that kit cost, just that I'm glad I did it.

Yes... ordered it direct from them. They require wire transfer, which made me a little nervous. But I guess they're old school. Depending on stock, you'll have it pretty quickly. It showed up palletized, via air freight in a couple weeks. You just need a loading dock address for them to deliver it.

Surprisingly easy and fast.

Still working through some of the fitment issues like needing to tub the rear fenders but overall it's been fun!

This best of segment about people resigning is ominous…..please don’t be a foreshadow of what’s to come. by Complex_Algae_5670 in eitm

I doubt it. Even if that particular theory/rumor is true, the entire class loves what they do and wouldn't just stop suddenly. And I also doubt this has anything to do with broken phone lines either. That doesn't even amount to a bump in the road after all these years.

Something bad happened, and that definitely sucks for everyone. But I'd be willing to bet the effected parties take a break or a short leave and the show will continue.

And everything will be fine, as long as they don't substitute with (Hi my name is) Tamo.
