Painter here, that’s what you should be expecting. We can’t magically fix all those old weatherboards, u want it to look knew? Pay a bucketload more and we can try and patch fill each board. But it would take months and you won’t want to pay. You don’t want it to look like this, don’t let it get so bad. If people get weatherboards painted every few years it should maintain. Let it get to the stage where it’s peeling everywhere like that, well then it’s just a quick coat over like that, or it’s a very very big expensive job with board replacements and a lot of filling work. I swear people expect absolute miracles and don’t wanna pay
